The University of Manitoba faculty strike has now lasted one month, and while the school and faculty spar over a new deal, students are stuck in the middle and worry how long it could last. Joe Scarpelli reports.
We were proud to stand with @UMFA_FAUM members during their #FairDealRally at the University of Manitoba today! It's been an entire month since they were forced to go out on strike, likely the longest in U of M history. FAIR DEAL NOW ✊

Administration’s refusal to accept UMFA’s reasonable proposals is making a bad situation even worse, as faculty recruitment and retention problems deepen. #umfa2021#umfaSTRONG#umfastrike
SOS from the North: We're desperate for help in Lynn Lake, Gilliam & Snow Lake. Nurses are needed to cover day & night shift needs. People are left in a vulnerable situation with NO access to healthcare services if nurses aren't able to cover these shifts. SOS... we are drowning.
Professor: Teach one course a term, get summers off, for a 6-figure salary. Sound too good to be true? Well, that’s because it is. Profs work a lot. Exactly how much do they work? #umfa2021#umfastrike 🧵👇
