Hey AB… you know who doesn’t train any of our future MDs or HC learners?
Chartered surgical facilities, and private-pay clinics.
Learners slow things down and get in the way of profit’s…
LaGrange and Smith know this and simply don’t care.
Daniel Smith cannot be trusted.
She clearly promised she would not privatize HC.
She will say ANYTHING, because she believes in NOTHING
(She will say anything of it will keep her in power)
The full 23-page legal opinion on Alberta's Bill 11 is out!
Their conclusion? "Facilitating a two-tier regime ... is directly contrary to the core requirements, criteria & principles of the Canada Health Act."🎯
📢Tell @MarjoriePLC: enforce the CHA! https://t.co/3M33frLUve
400+ Public Health Inspectors & colleagues are being transferred out of AHS and into direct government employment.
FOM is extremely concerned about the impact this move will have on Albertans' public health & safety in daycares, seniors' care & more.

Hey AB, Smith and Lagrange keep saying there's a done deal for the TLP role (the long promised WR ED doctor) ... there isn't.
They are either ill-informed, or intentionally misleading (= nice way of saying lying).

“There is absolutely no evidence that this will increase capacity or shorten wait times, it just creates a way for the wealthy to jump the queue, while the rest of us wait longer or are forced to go without,” said FOM's executive director Chris Gallaway.

"She's heard"?? Please, Minister. You either have the data or you don't.
We've heard the opposite: That two tier health care is driving Drs & HCWs out of Alberta. That's significant, & shouldn't be left to hearsay.
For the record, AB has 244 Drs/100,000 people, Sweden has 420.
This didn't age so well:
"Under no circumstance, will any Albertan ever have to pay out of pocket for access to... to get the medical treatment they need."
Except for surgery... (for now).
You see Premier, govt sanctioned pay to jump the queue is a "circumstance"
The Alberta government has moved quickly. We need our Federal government to respond quickly too.
AB's Bill 11 is putting the very foundation of Canada's public health care is at risk—There's no time to waste.
📢Tell @MarjoriePLC we need action NOW: https://t.co/O3gTsluqzl
@MarjoriePLC ICYMI: Here is the summary of the legal opinion from @GPLLP stating clearly that Bill 11 Violates Canada Health Act requirements for Universality, Accessibility and Comprehensiveness, as well as the prohibitions on extra-billing and user charges.

I find it striking the UCP Govt - staunch defenders of having no "fear hearing from the people" - makes up 9 Referendum questions about immigration and changing the Canadian constitution... but they didn't want to "hear from the people" on whether they should privatize HC...

@BradenMannsYYC@a_longhurst So AMA is trying to MITIGATE the disaster coming, by trying to work w govt…
But on this topic I do NOT believe it will work… the Premier isn’t listening… she thinks she knows better.
Only PUBLIC PRESSURE can maybe stop that trajectory.
Alberta’s ER deaths spotlight systemic hospital underfunding
The maximum wait times for 90% of patients increased by 86 per cent between 2020-21 and 2024-25

"This entire mess has been a cynical political exercise by the Premier. It serves no one in Alberta. A referendum on whether to hold a referendum is not a clear question. This whole thing is a waste of time and money,"
#abpoli#ableg#cdnpoli
FOM's Chris Gallaway & Red Deer Chapter chair Brenda Reid spent the lunch hour rallying with @CupeAB health care workers & advocates outside of Minister LaGrange's office!
The message was simple: Hands off our public health care!
📢 Act now to amplify: https://t.co/eCRhlKy8Ux
If a separatist group wants to fight this in court, they can pay for their own appeal. It is not the responsibility of Alberta taxpayers to subsidize a political project the government claims it does not even support.

The province’s largest union is highlighting what it calls a crisis in care for Alberta’s seniors. AUPE president Sandra Azocar launched the ‘Care Delayed is Care Denied’ campaign to draw attention to “collapsing conditions” in continuing care facilities. https://t.co/QrMU0JmJhi
and the Premier pretends she's a libertarian while she has the largest AB govt and has it meddling in our everyday lives???
This govt doesn't seem to prioritize what the vast majority of ABs do... what's the scoop AB? Why do we tolerate this?

Hey AB, while you are worried about the price of groceries + rent, the highest electricity and insurance rates in the country, and while our govt continues to dismantle our HC system and underfund education, + marches on with cronyism, grift, and corrupt practices ...
