Can we trust the carbon data shaping business, investment and regulatory decisions?
The new Landscape Analysis of Product-Level Carbon Accounting takes stock of where the field stands today.
The analysis finds strong foundations across existing approaches, but also highlights continued fragmentation.
The opportunity is not to replace what already exists. It is to build on this work and develop a more harmonised accounting architecture that makes product carbon data comparable, transferable and trusted across value chains.
This is the mission of the Technical Expert Panel on Carbon Accounting to build a system that can drive real-world change for business, people and the planet.

Grateful for the opportunity to reflect with ICC leadership on the pathways that turn bold climate goals into real-world outcomes.
Predictable finance, stronger public–private cooperation, and clear signals to markets are central to accelerating action across Africa and the Global South.
The momentum at #COP30 continues to build.

What if we saw the climate challenge differently?
Instead of an impossible problem, a risk, or a cost, what if it’s the business opportunity of a lifetime?
The @iccwbo is calling on world leaders to deliver policies that will open up the #ClimateOpportunity for business -and unlock $1.3 trillion in global climate investment annually.

At the @wto Public Forum this week, #COP30 President Amb. do Lago launched a flagship “Integrated Forum on Climate and Trade” — a bold step to further bridge the climate and trade communities.
As ICC Chair Philippe Varin highlighted, “Trade is often seen as something separate from climate policy. In reality, it is one of the most powerful levers we have to accelerate the transition to net zero. Trade determines how quickly new technologies spread, how resilient our supply chains are, and how affordable climate solutions become.”
With COP30 in Belém, we have a once-in-a-decade opportunity to better align trade and #climateaction and show that trade can be a solution, not an obstacle.
Between 2014 and 2023, extreme weather events resulted in $2 trillion in economic losses, affecting 1.6 billion people.
Yet, climate adaptation finance remains far behind mitigation.

Taking business climate action on the 🛣️ to COP30.
The climate crisis is a monumental challenge and a generational opportunity for businesses. With the right frameworks and investments, it could be turned into 5x returns. But to unlock that potential, we need:
✔️ Robust governance frameworks
✔️ Standards and certification processes
✔️ Effective and implementable rules
✔️ International cooperation
#COP30 is our chance to make it happen.
This week, team ICC stood alongside the COP30 President and business leaders at the Gold Standard Conference and Sustainable Business COP Summit to champion what's needed to scale impactful #climateaction.
We’re on the ground, ensuring the voice of business is part of the conversation.
🌍 The fight against #climatechange requires global solutions—unilateral #trade measures just won’t cut it.
In our latest paper, we’re pushing for a multilateral approach to Border Carbon Adjustments (BCAs) that keeps #trade fair and climate goals aligned.

Private investment in clean energy solutions is growing at an unprecedented rate. But meeting the international community's target to triple renewable energy capacity by 2030 will require a significant step change in policy approaches.
Speaking at a special dialogue convened by Australia during the @IEA's 2024 Ministerial Meeting, our Global Policy Director @AndrewWilsonICC stressed three business priorities to speed the energy transition:
➡️ Ensuring all governments establish joined-up domestic energy policy ecosystems -- from clear (and politically stable) targets to effective permitting systems and robust offset markets. These need to be hard-wired into national climate action plans before COP30.
➡️ Repositioning the role of multilateral development banks from risk guarantors to real catalysts of private finance through increased use of equity investments and early-stage grants.
➡️ Rethinking the impact of global macro prudential rules on clean energy investments in emerging economies. Greater balance is ultimately needed between financial stability and climate objectives -- a reflection that the G20 is ideally placed to lead.
Troika format of partnership of COP Presidencies has been launched on the sidelines of #WGS2024. #COP28, #COP29 & #COP30 Presidencies will work together to ensure continuity of efforts for advanced climate action in support of ‘Mission 1.5°C’.

On the road to #COP28.
Today, we sat down with lead negotiators from #COP27 and #COP28 Presidencies, U.S. and EU + business leaders to take stock of outcomes of Sharm and discuss critical path issues that lay ahead.
As the @UNFCCC business focal point and key business interlocutor at the WTO, we at @iccwbo applaud the launch of the #TradeClimateCoalition. The fact is, #globaltrade and the rules underpinning it will make an enormous difference to achieving the #ParisAgreement goals.
