I shared my experience with #LongCovid & #MECFS in @TheTyee. The B.C. government wants to ignore us, but we can't let them. https://t.co/S400ZXOdAI #bcpoli
@markcritch Can't wait to see it! 🤩 I know you will wrap it up perfectly, as you have every episode.
I'm hoping for a complete series dvd set some day.🤞
So if we didn’t know Covid existed and millions of people of all ages developed new chronic illnesses, displayed immune damage, developed rare cancers, were getting hit harder by every illness, were displaying cognitive damage, showed organ damage, and half of them displayed no symptoms at all at the time of infection, what would we think it was?
Covid is airborne and spreading freely, and we need to do something about that now.
A math problem - If kids have been infected an average of 5x, w/ each infection carrying a (conservative estimate)10% likelihood of developing long COVID, & kids w/ long COVID are likely to have worse grades, more absences, & poorer health (1/2) https://t.co/Re1vQcAjDE
Long Covid Awareness Day.
It's not a happy day.
We are in year seven of this nightmare. Many have disconnected the viral disease from the terrible outcomes. We were kicked off by politicians, medicine, the public, and our friends and families. We persist as this virus does because humanity doesn't go down without a fight to breathe freely and walk on unimpeded. We persist as this virus does, hanging onto a string of hope that there will be viral load tests, accessible treatments for all, and above all prevention plans so we stop getting new variants that make everyone sicker.
For people who are able bodied:
Take a moment today to sit and think or write what you are grateful for.
Now strike off most of that list.
That's where some of us are.
Be a light for someone who doesn't have as much to be grateful for.
Find your compassion and apply it to a real person who is suffering greatly.
And read studies from LitHub if you get some time to learn about the vastly different ways this disease presents as in different people.
Thank you for reading and please share.

Five years of #LongCovid has caused so much deterioration yet I persist.
4th Annual International Long Covid Awareness Day. 2 years ago the estimate was around 409 Million people had Long Covid.
It is the #1 Chronic illness among children and your risk for Long Covid increases with each infection.
If Covid was mild, there wouldn’t be an international day of recognition for the damage it does.
Why Do Some People Still Wear Masks In 2026 And On A Completely Unrelated Note Why Is Everyone In The Office Sick Right Now Apart From The Guy In The Mask?
Really exciting to see Long COVID making it into multiple major news platforms this week! 🙏
Here, the Boston Globe shares the story of Samantha Crausman, a severe LC patient in her late 20's.
Her story will be all too familiar to those of us here. She's bedbound, having to restrict not just her physical but also her cognitive energy expenditures. 💔
Her family goes to great lengths to prevent her from being reinfected - the Boston Globe photographer can only snap a photo from outside of the house.
The article quotes her father, a doctor, at the end:
"When he was an intern during the dark, early days of the AIDS epidemic, a friend was diagnosed with HIV, and expected to die.
'And you know what?' Rob Crausman said. 'That friend has lived a happy life and is still doing wonderful things to this day.'"
🙏
@CBCOlympics Teams GB and NOR were tied in the 10th end of men's #curling a few minutes ago and every tv channel cut to the beginning of a hockey game. Please do not show such disrespect to viewers again. At least keep it on one station.
@moose995 Hey team. Your #RemembranceDay broadcast was a disgrace today. No O Canada, then Highway to Heroes was blaring overtop of The Last Post and the time of silence. We had to turn off the radio to have our own silence at work. Never heard The Rouse or Act of Remembrance.
This weeks episode was one of the most exciting days filming for our crew. A true honour to spend the day working with Buddy Wasisname and The Other Fellas. Be sure to tune in and see if Mark and his pops catch a moose!! Tuesday 8:30 EST/9pm NL 🫎 Got to get me moose, b’y! #
