West End theatres will dim their lights for two minutes at 7pm on Tuesday 2 December in remembrance of renowned playwright Tom Stoppard who has died aged 88.
Over a distinguished career spanning six decades, he won three Laurence Olivier Awards and five Tony Awards, and received an Academy Award for his screenplay for Shakespeare in Love. That recognition attests to the remarkable range and enduring impact of his work on both stage and screen.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, and all whose lives he enriched.
Gotta hand it to the authorities. At first I was mad when they scrubbed the Banksy, but they have unintentionally made one of the most powerful artworks of all time.

Lutonian Billy Lawson was a trainer for 30 years from 1893 to 1923 and turned down many offers from 'bigger' clubs to remain with his home town side
He is described by Tim Collings in The Luton Town Story as, '...a figure of impact and character...the first legend of Luton Town'
What the hell is happening to @Morrisons it’s store in Bedford used to smell of lovely freshly cooked food, today it just smelt dirty. It was scruffy , dirty and very poorly merchandised as well as being devoid of customers. No surprise then. They must be in serious trouble.
This is a truly heartbreaking one. Janey’s fierce support for those bullied, her vulnerability and sense of justice was what I admired about her the most.
It now falls to all of us to call Trump a cunt at any given opportunity, on her behalf.
Sleep tight you funny fucker :(
Not for the first time @Nigel_Farage has played the media like a fiddle. It is the one thing he is very good at. But now that he has played his latest tune, they - and especially in this case the broadcast media - need to think long and hard about the role they have played in all this. Constant platforming without real scrutiny - of his role in Brexit, which he barely talks about now; of the financing of his party; of his contempt for the rule of law as shown in his sycophantic relationship with Trump; and now like the Tories pumping misinformation far and wide. Populism never works when it gets anywhere near power. It only gets as far as it does because “it makes for good copy.” But it can do a lot of damage to democracy on the way.
Oh that’s weird because it did the opposite of killing me.
40 people worked around the clock to save my life when I was in a coma and expected to die.
At the end of it, no bill.
They would barely let me thank them.
