82 years ago, 14,000 Canadians landed on Juno Beach, many of whom would never come home.
On the anniversary of D-Day, we pause to honour those who served and sacrificed. We remember that our rights, our freedoms, and our way of life were fought for and were won by those who answered the call.
We are saddened to learn about the passing of former Blue Jays Manager Bobby Cox. Before tonight's game, we held a moment of silence to remember one of the game's greats.
Bobby managed us to our first division title in 1985, also winning Manager of the Year that year.
Our thoughts are with his family and the @Braves organization.
We mourn the passing of Hall of Famer Bobby Cox, the fourth-winningest manager in MLB history.
Cox led the Atlanta Braves to unprecedented success, winning 14 straight division titles from 1991-2005, along with 5 NL pennants and the 1995 World Series championship.
The four-time Manager of the Year won 2,401 games overall, behind only Connie Mack, Tony La Russa, and John McGraw. Of the 13 managers with at least 2,000 career wins, only one (Joe McCarthy) got there in fewer games than Cox.
Cox managed the Braves for 25 seasons in all, leading them to six 100-win seasons and eight 90-win seasons. He also managed the Blue Jays for four years, including the franchise’s first winning record in 1983 and first division title in 1985.
As General Manager of the Braves from 1986-90, Cox laid the foundation for the teams he would manage to success over the next two decades by trading for one future Hall of Famer in John Smoltz, drafting another in Chipper Jones, and helping develop homegrown legend Tom Glavine.
Owner of a .556 winning percentage in 29 total seasons as manager, Cox was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2014.
He was 84 years old.

I’m often asked about my favourite Royal photos - A tough question after 25 years of Royal Photography! However, this photo, I took 15 years ago today has to be up there…..Not just due to the history and spectacle of the moment but the period of excitement and optimism it represented. The build up to the Royal Wedding of the (now) Prince and Princess of Wales was full of optimism and patriotism. The UK at its best! 🇬🇧
Mark Carney: "Many of our former strengths, built on our close ties to the US, have become weaknesses. The US has changed. That's their right. And we're responding ... we're deepening our partnerships with our closest allies, including the EU, the Nordic countries, and Australia."
This is one of the earliest pictures I have of my brother Alan and me.
Even back then, you can see that he had his arm around me, watching over me. That’s who he was. My protector. My guide. The one who quietly carried so much responsibility so the rest of us could shine.
Alan was our leader in every sense of the word. His tireless work helped build everything we became. I will always be grateful for the sacrifices he made and the love he showed—not just to me, but to every member of our family.
I owe him more than I can ever fully express.
I love you, Alan. Thank you for always being there for me.
Till we meet again,
Brother Donny

April 21 marks what would have been the 100th birthday of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Her late Majesty devoted more than seven decades to public service, including 70 years as Canada’s Monarch; the longest reign in Canadian history.
This is such heartbreaking news. Pat was a rare kind of person—brilliantly talented, endlessly kind, and generous in spirit. I was so lucky to have worked with him when I first started at Days, he made me feel at ease right away. He brought his unique charm and humor to work every day. A truly gifted guy, and one who will be profoundly missed.
