Three generations laying hedges today, doing the same thing that my family has done here at Strickley for 150 years.
But, we feel vulnerable about the future right now. We don’t own land as an asset for tax purposes or for a wealth fund, we own land to care for it & to farm it.
@CarlBovisNature Yes me, been living with it for years and now have hearing aids.... but I work in construction so how will I ever get away from the noise?
@aliciaandrz We've had a couple of rescue cats and they're all so different. The really nervous ones could do with a pheromone plug in to chill them out. The braver ones always like treats..... a.k.a. McDonald's for cats (dreamies in the UK) 🙄
We have freedom of speech in the UK; it's written into our law in the 1998 Human Rigts Act. But rights come with responsibilities (I appreciate that's a concept you're not familiar with); there's a requirement not to incite criminality or spread hatred online. We find society works better that way.
If pensioners who get 12k per year are considered too well off to receive the winter fuel allowance, shouldn't MP's on 96k per year be considered too rich to receive housing, heating, travel, and meal subsidies?
