Internet was down all morning so tech class switched from online scratch coding to coding with Bee-Bots! Due to the Pandemic and online learning, current G3’s had missed coding with physical Bots. Thank goodness for simple Robots that build programming skills sans internet.

G2 learners creating their own sprites and backgrounds @scratch to use later in their animated projects. The collaborative nature of @scratch encourages learners to take risks and try out different visual coding blocks independently. What fun!
So proud of my kids #KuperKoders who worked hard on their programs to win the Roboparty league in #Robocupquebec2022. Third place in Individual teams, and champions of SuperTeam (They had to collaborate with two other schools for SuperTeam challenges).
What a fantastic experience participating in the Robocup Canada competitions. For #KuperKoders it was our first Robotics competition, and what a great learning experience! Inquiry, problem solving, perseverance, collaboration and communication ruled the day!
This G1 inquirer wanted to write a complex code that involved the backward button to try to get to the purple dot. Everyone learnt to use the backward button in their program. Love how #coding teaches directionality, measurement, language, commands, sequencing and problem solving
While #programming with visual blocks allows for screen shots to evidence learning; reflecting and 📄 this learning gives a much deeper insight, promoting meta cognitive skills. That’s why lab reports are crucial. Great reflections from these G6 students. #Robotics
#Robotics builds a culture of thinking, failing forward with testing and debugging the program, sharing of ideas, application of math and language, perseverance, and grit. I loved how these girls reflected that they tried many times before they got the degrees of rotation right.
#Robotics#programming is all about being a risk taker. Beginner level 1 lesson was to make the robot move forward and turn. A curious risk taker began adding buttons, sound, expressions and the whole class has now learnt to humanize the brick by adding expressions. @siatau 👀
G6’s Understanding the applications of VR in real life, by experiencing it via cardboard VR goggles. Thoroughly enjoyed planning, teaching and documenting this lesson. #STEAMlearning#learningbydoing. What fun!
