@sakata_v@HeavensHero It’s not really about whether it gives them an advantage or not, or whether they are screwed or not. It’s the *story* itself being spoiled. Yes, showing a future enemy is considered a spoiler, as it also eliminates the tension you feel when you are still in, say, singularity 6
@FareastAReus Never watched Oregairu, but i’m kinda interested in the VN due to how people talk about it. How many Oregairu VNs are there? Where do i start?
@pipkinpippa My main use of AI is usually to find games. Like finding underrated mecha games i don’t know about, finding a game i forgot its name, or finding if a Japanese game has an English translation patch
@SuperSavajin Really liked this moment. I certainly wanted Dunban to kill Mumkhar here, but Shulk’s reason to stop him was great. He didn’t really stop him for Mumkhar’s sake, but rather for Fiora. Killing Mumkhar might have made killing Fiora, when the circumstances allow it, a viable choice
@PanelJunkie@zmnpow@FalcomfanFool@xiaocooki@RawrOfTheEmo But that’s not the issue of localization. What people hate is a localization that doesn’t even try to follow the original script. Taking a look at games like Unicorn Overlord and Yunyun Syndrome, you can see that the localizers took free liberty to change it to however they like
@PanelJunkie@zmnpow@FalcomfanFool@xiaocooki@RawrOfTheEmo Obviously, not every Japanese word has a perfect equivalent, the same applies to a large number of languages. The point here is to translate it as closely as possible without altering it. In other words, the meaning of a sentence should be translated rather than the words alone
@PanelJunkie@zmnpow@FalcomfanFool@xiaocooki@RawrOfTheEmo An “accurate translation” is one that tries to preserve the cultural meaning of the word in Japanese when translated to English. Besides, “ganbaru” is the one that means stubborn or persevere, while “ganbatte” is the one that means “good luck, do your best” and such
@PanelJunkie@zmnpow@FalcomfanFool@xiaocooki@RawrOfTheEmo This is a different type of literal translation. It’s a literal translation of a word regardless of what it actually means in Japanese language and culture. It’s not what people want when they ask for “accurate translations”
@Merk_Gang I used to try to save money during middle and highschool when i get the chance. We don’t have free food at school, it costs money, so i would usually get approximately $1.50 every school day. I would use half of it or so and save the rest, and eventually bought games on my own
@LO_GRC@LordRaijinArt@Fleechiru Umamusume is a victim of this. Once the global version released and became popular, an insane amount of people started swarming the fandom and all they do is ship and pick fights with whoever doesn’t agree with their ships. Worst part? Turns out most of them don’t play the game
@honaemus@scorps_art The opposite, actually. I can watch someone play a horror game, no problem. I may feel a little anxious, but it’s very minor. Playing it, though? That’s a whole-different story. You aren’t seeing a game; you ARE in the game. Try it yourself and see how massive the difference is
@KickBlur25@pvyarty@ANerdNamedJerry If they played games, they would realise time flies fast when they are both engaged in a game and not checking a game’s time every few mins like it’s a youtube video
@intermet179@Lambofkhalaa@Jek_Korpen Roleplaying in survival games kinda doubles the fun. When i played Windrose with a friend, we would try to talk pirate- like while having pirate-like names. Sometimes sing like a pirate. Was fun
@Waning_Twilight@DovahNyomor@kantstopkev_v2@trelsnow@uni_gree You don’t need to have them all be playable from start to finish, just at some certain important sections. And not all of them, Kairi and Lea can be excused as them just starting out, but it’s, i don’t know. KH3 could have been the best game, it had the potential, you know.
@Waning_Twilight@DovahNyomor@kantstopkev_v2@trelsnow@uni_gree Most likely so that the player can have a way of either being present in the scene and fight Aqua. Honestly, KH3 really should have had multiple playable characters because there were a lot of keyblade masters
