A surprising amount of adult happiness comes from having something to look forward to.
A library hold. A dinner reservation. A book arriving in the mail. A weekend trip. A walk after work.
Tiny anticipation carries more weight than we give it credit for
A real sign of healing is when you stop taking everything personally. You begin to see that people act from their own patterns, their own wounds, their own stories. Their behavior is about them, not you. And the moment you understand that, life feels lighter.
TVK is perfect encapsulation of post modern nihilistic society that we live in, like people in my state have completely have no ideology or politics guiding but only this is incessant need to make their hero the leader of the state
Every day one TVK fan throws a dart at a spinning wheel full of political ideologies and then says that's what the party stands for.
"Communism. Sanatani leftism. Tamil nationalist Marxism. Vera, vera..."
The most underrated act of kindness is simply letting people be. Let them mispronounce a word, talk too much about a show they love, or get excited about something you don't quite understand. Everyone has something that lights them up, let them shine, even if it's not your thing.
Little advice on raising children:
You never know when the “last time” is, so make each time count….as if it were the last.
The last time you give them a bath, the last time you wake up in the middle of the night, the last time you help them eat pancakes, the last time you read them a goodnight story, the last time…….
Then they grow up, and the last times…….are gone.
Make it count…..every single time.
I’m in love with this sentence:
“The degree to which a person can grow is directly proportional to the amount of truth he can accept about himself without running away.”
