Thank you for saying: “we need to stop starvation in Gaza . It’s terrible “ . Thank you for the bread crumbs and the bare minimum. How the fuck did we go from stop killing civilians, to stop killing babies to stop starving people? Thank you for the fake empathy, where were you for the last two years ?
Every editor who canceled a story about Palestine brought us here. Every boss who censored an employee. Everyone who said “not this way” to protesters. Every university admin calling the cops. Bloody. All your hands are bloody, and we will never forget.
Hey LA: Every moment ICE spends navigating crowds or abandoning operations due to confrontation is a moment they're not tearing families apart.
Every second we delay them is a victory.
Keep resisting.
I’m waiting for a news outlet to point out Israel has no right to be in the territorial waters round Gaza in first place. The sea round Gaza is Palestinian territory, Israel has no right to even enter it. Anyone? No, media just takes it for granted Israel can do as it pleases.
On the 610th day of the Gaza genocide, the whole world is waiting to see if the IDF will open fire on a lone aid boat crewed by peace activists and filled with food and medicine for intentionally starved and maimed children.
This is the world we’ve allowed Israel to create.
One day Netanyahu will die, and liberal Zionists will rush to pin the horror inflicted on Palestinians solely on him. But it wasn’t just Netanyahu. Only 10 Israeli citizens refused to fight. The blockade that starved Gaza and blocked international aid and water was maintained by the whole of Israeli society. This was not the act of one man—it was collective. No one will forget. No one will forgive.
im sorry, but yet again, sanders, as one of the most popular politicians in america and arguably the most popular jewish politician in the world, could have genuinely shifted american popular opinion and demands on israel, but he likes israel too much to do that.
This is Hossam’s team, and we are sharing his final message :
“If you’re reading this, it means I have been killed—most likely targeted—by the Israeli occupation forces. When this all began, I was only 21 years old—a college student with dreams like anyone else. For past 18 months, I have dedicated every moment of my life to my people. I documented the horrors in northern Gaza minute by minute, determined to show the world the truth they tried to bury. I slept on pavements, in schools, in tents—anywhere I could. Each day was a battle for survival. I endured hunger for months, yet I never left my people’s side.
By God, I fulfilled my duty as a journalist. I risked everything to report the truth, and now, I am finally at rest—something I haven’t known in the past 18 months . I did all this because I believe in the Palestinian cause. I believe this land is ours, and it has been the highest honor of my life to die defending it and serving its people.
I ask you now: do not stop speaking about Gaza. Do not let the world look away. Keep fighting, keep telling our stories—until Palestine is free.”
— For the last time, Hossam Shabat, from northern Gaza.
idk how to tell u this but 51% of the country voting for trump is bigger than .4% voting for jill stein. you are surrounded by fascists not third party traitors.
Did you hear today is James Baldwin's 100th birthday? Do you feel like you should have read him by now?
We have a chart for that!
AND we made a James Baldwin page browsable by genre (since he was a genre-defying genius): https://t.co/4CfEr8YsIX
1400+ Columbia University alumni from its 20 schools have pledged to withhold all “financial, programmatic, and academic support” until school meets demands related to divestment, student discipline, and community safety.
Group website says over $63 million of donations at risk.
Hind Rajab's mom on Columbia students naming Hind's Hall:
"I started crying because I wanted all of these movements & support to come while Hind was still alive."
Hopes protests don't stop till permanent ceasefire.
"Wake up now! Why are others like Hind still going through this?"
If a ceasefire is reached right now, the UN estimates that we would need a century to rebuild the Gaza Strip. A century to undo what Israel has done. 100 years. That’s 3 generations of Palestinians trapped in this genocide, even after reaching a ceasefire.
The protests at Colombia are great & all but this morning a mass grave was uncovered at Al-Nasser Hospital & so far they pulled 210 bodies, some were decapitated, some skinned, some with organs stolen. The protests are meant to draw attention to the genocide, not overshadow it.
Terrified of what, airstrikes? Snipers? Abduction? Carpet bombing? Torture? Hellfire missiles? White phosphorous attacks?
This is embarrassing. Stop centering Jewish feelings during a Palestinian genocide.
