This March, we introduced Ask Maps, the biggest @googlemaps update in a decade. Now, we’re making it even more helpful and bringing it to more people.
🌏 Expanded availability: Rolling out in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Japan and Mexico, along with over 150 countries and territories in English.
✨Get more done with Ask Maps: Including complex, multi-step tasks, like ordering food – along with finding the perfect hotel or discovering nearby events.
⌚Real-time transit information: Stay informed about up-to-the-minute delays and conditions for your bus, train, and more.
💬Personal intelligence and past conversations: Choose to securely connect @Gmail so Ask Maps can automatically reference booking details, like a hotel reservation or flight information. You can also pick up conversations just where you left them.
🗣️An easier way to help your community: Share tips and suggest edits to a place conversationally, like changing a store’s hours, right in Ask Maps and the Contribute tab.
We're shipping big updates to Ask Maps! Since we've launched Ask Maps, I've been inspired by how people are using Google Maps in totally new ways to ask the questions really on their minds.
Building on that, we're expanding Ask Maps to 150+ markets in English and rolling out:
🍔 Food ordering with partners like Square and Toast, with Uber Eats coming soon
🧠 Personal Intelligence with Gmail integration
🚆 Real-time transit info
🗺️ Suggest tips and edits conversationally
4) Ask Maps goes beyond just text information, it gives you an inline visual experience (powered by millions of reviews and photos from real people) giving you a feel for the place. Ask Maps also makes it easier to take actions with contextual pathways to the exact parts of the app you need next.
Super excited to be rolling out Ask Maps: a new conversational experience on Google Maps in India.
AskMaps really shines in India on:
- Spelling and mixed languages (Hinglish etc)
- Comparison across travel modes
- Complex trip planning
- Visual experience and contextual handoffs

3) Complex trip planning: Planning a trip to 'Statue of Unity', now instead of dozens of separate searches, you can just ask. Ask Maps will give you the full picture - the best time to visit, how to get there, important tips, and even nearby spots you shouldn't miss
Among established Test quicks since 2006, there are just 20 who consistently move the ball both ways (higher than 20% of balls swinging both right & left).
Among those 20, 10 have an average speed above 135kph.
Among those 10, only two hit a good line and length over 40% of the time.
Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj.

The wait is over. @GeminiApp is now shipping Veo 3 *globally* for all Pro members!
That means India, Indonesia, all of Europe, and more are starting to get access to create videos right now.
As a member, you'll get 3 video generations per day, and that credit will replenish daily.
How to get it 👇
Great software feels like an extension of you. We're building @GeminiApp to be the most PERSONAL, PROACTIVE, and POWERFUL assistant.
👀Here's the strategy:
1/ PERSONAL: The best assistant gets you. It starts by knowing your past chats (launching soon), but we’ll go further: we’ll make it easy for you to bring in all of your @Google context (Gmail, Photos, Calendar, Search, YouTube, etc.) - with your permission! On the team, we call it “pcontext” (personalized context) and we’re testing it internally with our own info already.
2/ PROACTIVE: The best assistant anticipates. @GeminiApp will offer insights and actions before you ask, freeing your mind and time for what truly matters. Less prompting, more flow.
3/ POWERFUL: The best assistant turns your ideas into action. @GoogleDeepMind models (like 2.5 Pro) are exceptional - they can research, orchestrate, and create images, videos, and code. We’re in a new era of models, and a new era of user experiences are coming.
4/ Zooming out, @Google infrastructure & TPUs back all of this. It’s the kind of infra people dream about, but it actually exists here -- and it’s going to let us make all this FREE for everyone to try, especially students.
5/ One request: keep your feedback coming! We try to listen, build, and iterate fast. In the last ~3.5 weeks, we’ve shipped:
* Gemini 2.5 Flash
* Veo 2 for video generation
* Free Gemini plans for all U.S. students (more countries soon!)
* LaTeX support (top request)
* Upload and edit your images (started rolling out yesterday)
6/ @demishassabis and I will unpack all of this (and more) at Google I/O in <20 days! Let’s roll!
