As far as I know, the parking tariff at Central Market, Lajpat Nagar (Alankar Road), is Rs 20 per hour. However, for a long time I have observed parking attendants charging Rs 100 per visit, and most people pay this amount. This appears to be because the parking slips are designed in a way that prominently displays only the full-day charge of Rs 100.All of this seems to be happening in plain sight of the local authorities. When questioned, the parking attendants often agree to charge Rs 20 per hour, but only a small number of people challenge the overcharging. One parking attendant even admitted that if they did not charge Rs 100, they would not be able to recover the Rs 62 lakh parking allotment cost. I urge the @DelhiPolice, @DelhiTrafficPolice, @MCDofficials, and the Hon’ble @DelhiChiefMinister to look into this matter and take appropriate action against the overcharging being carried out by this #parkingmafia.
