I am grateful to President @OfficialABAT, GCFR for entrusting me with the responsibility of driving his administration's industrialization reform agenda through @NASENIHQ.
The CNG Reverse Engineering Center we launched in Utako yesterday marks another milestone in our ongoing reforms at NASENI and demonstrates our commitment to realizing the President’s #RenewedHope Agenda.
This is the Medium Security Custodial Centres, Suleja, Niger state where 119 inmates escaped after a heavy rainfall.
This graveyard, “sorry” facility with a capacity of housing thousands of inmates, is a vivid reflection of the situation in most urban custodial centres in Nigeria where both the staff of the correctional facility and the inmates are exposed to extreme poor conditions as a result of inadequate facilities and outdated technology. This has led to a lack of access to education, vocational training, and mental health services for inmates.
The staff and management of the correctional facility already knew that the facility was on the verge of destructions as the signs were seen everywhere.
One of the biggest challenges facing the Nigerian correctional system is overcrowding. Many of the prisons in Nigeria are overcrowded, with inmates living in poor conditions and lacking access to basic amenities such as healthcare, clean water, and proper nutrition. This situation has been exacerbated by the slow pace of trials and the high number of pretrial detainees.
Inadequate funding: The Nigerian correctional system has historically been underfunded, which has led to a lack of resources and staff to manage the facilities and provide necessary services to inmates. And it is at this point I am forced to highlight that the staff themselves are not happy or motivated on the job.
@Gidi_Traffic@mooyeeeeeee If she was my daughter
1) I’ll beat her black and blue so that next time, even Becky Lynch won’t attempt to put her hands on her.
2) I’ll burn down the school.
Think well of others and see what it does to your heart. Each time you hear something bad about others, don’t spread it, give them the benefit of the doubt. Put yourself in their position. Protect yourself from worrisome thoughts that disturb your mind. Keep the peace.
My friend, consider embracing humility. Not long ago, the former Governor discharged arrogance in both words and deeds, perceived as one of the strongest figures of our time. But now, behold, he finds refuge in another's backyard. Humility is a virtue worth embodying.
