The Regeneration and full Upgrade of the Tolu Schools Complex, Ajegunle

Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle (consisting of 19 mini football pitches)

At least everyone can bear me witness that during the time of Babatunde Fashola, he sought to make parts of Ogun State that were close to Lagos to be Lagos so he could build roads there, develop them, and expand the city. We were about 10 million people then.
I dare anyone go and bring pictures of Lagos in his time when gov Fashola was governor. Bring pictures from any part of Lagos: mainland, island, suburban areas,show us where there was trash on the ground. That was how serious Governor Fashola was about keeping the city clean and expanding its infrastructure.
Anybody telling you that population growth is the cause of congestion and environmental mismanagement is lying. I put it to you: with population growth should come infrastructural expansion and concious environmental sanitation. Gov. Fashola understood this. He sent beggars back to their states, but those who came to Lagos with talent, he made sure the environment was clean and conducive for them, because they were the target residents. You must make the environment conducive for the people living and doing business in the state.
Tell me why the VGC Bridge is still not completed after five good years. This is a bridge that would have eased congestion in that area. Look at the Lekki–Epe axis, they cannot even properly rehabilitate the road, because that is almost the only major road on the island.
Bola Tinubu was strategic enough to push for the coastal route because he understood that you cannot have just one highway serving a rapidly growing axis. Yet Governor Jide was comfortable having only one major highway in that area even when it was dilapidated.
Why cant he even at least build a flyover? Not anything spectacular, just a simple flyover. It couldn’t be done. Tell me why it hasn’t been completed.
Have you been to Abuja? Go and see the roads and flyovers that gov.Nyesom Wike is building. Some are completed within eight months. What exactly is the problem here? Read PBAT birthday message to Gov Jide on his birthday,even PBAT is asking him to try and build the 4MB and VGC bridge,nobody can understand him.
I wish Governor Jide would address us and explain what the actual challenges are. At least we would understand. Because I don’t understand how you inherit such strong foundations from your predecessors and fail to build on them. Instead, it feels like you are destroying what they established.
All the criticism and backlash he is facing,he is bringing it upon himself. There appears to be no clear standard. Why can’t there be a firm standard that no one should dump waste anywhere in Lagos? It is possible, even if the population were 70 billion. If population is the issue, then hire enforcers to ensure the work is done.
Look at the coastal road, when it was being vandalized by miscreants, what did the federal government do? They created patrol units to secure it and prevent vandalism. That is what leadership requires.
If people are dumping waste on the streets, establish environmental enforcement units to patrol the state. This is not rocket science.
All the roads and drainage Gov Fashola built in Lekki axis is all dilapidated,governor jide couldn't even at least maintain it..common drainage
I have never been this saddened by anything the way I am saddened by what Governor Jide is doing. This is seven good years,seven years that could have been used to expand infrastructure, update amenities, open up new regional access routes, and implement projects that would generate billions in revenue for the state.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved ₦2.8tn as the Federal Government’s verified electricity subsidy debt to power generation companies, following a tripartite audit that cut operators’ ₦6tn claim by more than half.

The payment will be phased through bonds and tied to settling gas supply debts and infrastructure upgrades to improve liquidity and grid stability.

Nigeria Gets Its First Unmanned 24-Hour Fuel Stations

A.A. Rano Nigeria Limited, founded by oil magnate Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano, has launched the country’s first fully automated and unmanned fuel stations with 24/7 service, digital payments, and SmartPump technology.

This is being implemented in partnership with Petrosoft Limited, a Nigerian technology company that develops management systems for the oil and gas industry.

The agreement will see Petrosoft deploy its automated station technology across A.A. Rano’s more than 200 retail outlets all over Nigeria.

Via a statement issued on Tuesday 6 January 2026, A.A. Rano says the first automated stations are expected to start operations during the month of January 2026, enabling customers to refuel, make contactless payments and complete transactions without attendants.

According to A.A. Rano, the technology is designed to reduce losses, improve transparency and reassure customers that they are getting the exact volume of fuel for which they pay.

Petrosoft Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joshua Denila said the project shows how homegrown technology can solve long-standing challenges in Nigeria’s fuel retail market.

Denila said, “Our systems are developed locally and built to international standards. They are designed to improve efficiency from single stations to large fueling depots.”
