Years later, seeing Erik Solheim appointed again by Ranil Wickremesinghe as an International Climate Adviser to Sri Lanka made me more angry.

International goverments spoke about peace while watching silently as thousands of Tamil civilians were trapped and killed in Mullivaikkal.

Instead, it was all political games, international pressure, diplomatic isolation and political tactics that slowly weakened our struggle, while Sri Lanka strengthened itself

Many of us believed the international community would help bring justice and a political solution for our people.

In the early 2000s, the Sri Lankan state was struggling militarily while the LTTE had taken control over large parts of our homeland and maintained significant control across land and sea. Many Tamils believed we were moving closer.
Then Sri Lanka announced a ceasefire
