• MU Behind the Scenes Wrap-up •

Dear Sats,
This might be a bit long, but I just want you to feel proud together.

“Can you believe I only just realized I was nervous?”
Jeff said this two days after his MU performance. Everyone at the studio was still stunned by the full Jeff Satur impact he brought to the stage. Even those who work with him every day were wondering how he pulled it off…

Let me share this with you in a friendly, like family. Now we just finally felt how risky and high-stakes that stage was. The pressure was huge, the expectations were massive, and the problems were countless.

Jeff usually doesn’t want us talking about the struggles because he worries about your feelings. He wants Sats to see only the positive side of him, to associate him only with happiness. But today, for the first time, we want to share what he had to shoulder as an artist.

November 20 – One day before the show

The team had discussed earlier and suggested he should lip-sync, since MU’s multi-country broadcast system made sound control unpredictable. But when we watched him perform with the sync, it felt like his soul was missing. His presence, his ownership of the stage, it disappeared.
So we sat him down immediately.

Jeff admitted he was very anxious about lip-syncing since he had never done it before. His gestures felt unnatural. We compared his old live stages, his “Sunshine mode” to the synced rehearsal, and it was like watching two different people. But if something went wrong? It wouldn’t even be his fault.

So during rehearsal, we decided to let him sing live and record it to let him be himself. And when the high note ended, everyone screamed.
The show director stood up and said,
“This! This is Miss Universe!”

At that moment, the idea of a live show hit us hard. We began discussing it seriously.

The organizers, who were incredibly supportive, trusted Jeff a lot. But after checking the livestream monitor, we realized that performing in such a huge hall without in-ear monitors was impossible. The sound echoed everywhere, from the walls back to the artist, almost like two different tracks slightly out of sync. You have to sing on beat, but the room gives you chaos. That’s why the in-ears became absolutely essential.

Even then, during rehearsal, Jeff heard the correct timing in the hall…
but the livestream playback showed he sounded ahead of the beat, through no fault of his own.
We brought in a master-level sound engineer to help so Jeff could focus on what he needed to pitch control, stage performance, delivering the message, and avoiding bumping into the beautiful contestants.

November 21 – Show day

Jeff was scheduled to rehearse early, but he surprised everyone by waking up on his own at 2.30 AM to warm up.
When he arrived at the venue, his voice was crystal clear, his eyes steady, no fear at all.
Rehearsal went smoothly.

08.00 AM – Showtime

His glam team sent him off to the stage and then cried while watching the opening show.
Then the studio got a sudden call:
“The metronome in his in-ears is off-beat!”
What!? How was he even singing!?

Jeff said he heard about three different rhythms—
• one in his in-ear,
• one from the external echoes,
• plus the off-beat metronome,
making it three overlapping timings.

Imagine singing a song while two people clap off-beat around you.
How did he manage?

The team rushed to fix it. Right before Ride or Die, they confirmed it was solved. Jeff went up and delivered that 8AM high note beautifully.
When he came down, he said
“I sang with a slight delay to match yesterday’s issue. Was it on time?”
The team was speechless…again.

After the opening

Jeff’s mom came to encourage him. Listening to her, it became clear why Jeff could overcome all this with grace, his strong mindset, warm family, and how well he was raised.

We especially loved what she told him before he went back on stage.

“Jeff, it’s like karate. Knock them flat, my son!”
