I should just refrain from posting again on this thread as I suspect it won’t do the OP any good. But I am just so personally offended by it, having been immersed in the Indonesian culture for so many years. They are a lovely, caring people. I also find zellie’s cavalier condemnation of the Indonesian Mountain Rescue Team to be discusting. Such teams the world over practice an unwavering commitment to saving lives—often in the harshest, most unforgiving conditions. Many are volunteers, driven by compassion and the belief that no life should be lost without every possible effort being made. Their ethos is one of selflessness, discipline, and dedication. I simply can’t imagine them not giving their all to save this woman because she is black.
