Half a Million Kilometres and Counting! 🚀⚡️

My 2012 Tesla Model S Signature Performance just crossed the 507,000 km mark! Bought it in December 2017 with only 40,000 km, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since.

The original battery made it to 470,000 km without a single warning or issue—it’s now powering another Model S! I only swapped it out because of some degradation and a too-good-to-pass-up deal on a 100 kWh pack. Now, we’re aiming for another 500,000 km to hit the 1-million-kilometre milestone!

This Model S originally came without Autopilot, but 5 years ago, we successfully retrofitted AP1, including all parking sensors and radar. Now, the next evolution is happening: an AP3 retrofit! 🛠️ We’ve started installing all cameras, radar, and parking sensors, with the first phase running an AP2.5 computer for testing before the final AP3 upgrade.

Burns it. And does it with a smile and all these liberals are ok with that. Reached another milestone today with our 2012 Signature Model S. Bought it late 2017 with only 40,000 kms. One previous owner at the time. From a P85 to now a P100, swapped out the degraded 85kwh pack to a 100kwh pack at 470,000 kms. No alerts or errors not even imblancing codes on the original pack from 2012. Range is renewed and amazing now. Makes road tripping far more enjoyable for sure.

Also added AP1, all glass roof and 2020 interior with functional seats. MCU2 etc for anyone that’s hasn’t been following. Some cosmetic upgrades. Bigger brakes also.

Next will be AP3 or HW3. Took a break from this for awhile but now back on it.

Still love this car as much as the first day we got it!

Our Dec 2021 Model Y (bought new) also has 260,000 kms now and was off factory warranty at 9 months of ownership lol
