This is the beginning of the end of the AI luddite movement and it’s long overdue. AI is a generational productivity tool for all fields, and companies whose decisions get co-opted by AI haters will become entirely unviable as competition whizzes by with better products.
@JMcniff1283@White_Janissary Yep it has to be standoff munitions. That's why almost every shot down US plane is over neutral territory or the gulf where iranian air defence has difficulty reaching. If they were really pushing in, that wouldn't be the case.
Everyone who thinks AI slop will ruin code efficiency/performance is going to be so surprised when everything is absurdly well-optimized John Carmack style machine code.
PS5 emulation has hit another impressive milestone.
A Discord user named RSantila reportedly booted Astro Bot on a Windows PC using SharpEmu, an experimental PS5 emulator.
This is huge since Astro Bot is a 2024 PS5 exclusive and shows how quickly PS5 emulation is advancing.
One interesting detail is that Claude is listed as a contributor to the SharpEmu project on GitHub because people are using it to advance even faster.
Apparently the community is contributing more after Sony’s recent announcement about ending physical game distribution in some markets.
Don’t expect to play PS5 games on PC anytime soon, though. Booting a game is just the first step.
@OntologicMR@arkditi@unirespecter No, he's correct. They are usually interested to some degree, they just don't like to see it openly *declared*. It shows poor tactfulness. They want to be seduced, not autistically forced to choose.
@arkditi@unirespecter Many women are oblivious that they tend to make for terrible friends anyway and the potentiality of romantic interest is the only real reason to hang around them. A dude will have my back. A woman is seeking another shoulder to cry on.

@usr_bin_roygbiv I kinda like it. 5.5 would annoyingly stop every now and then for no reason to ask for trivial input it could've figured out by itself. A good approach is to ask it afterwards to list exactly what it did and cut out some parts it overengineered. Better overdone than undercooked.
I was not particularly impressed with 5.5 tbh. It had a nasty habit of dropping longer tasks asking for me for trivial input it could have figured out on it's own and that hand-holding made it hard to fairly evaluate.
Terra was slightly less enchanting. It's a very good model regardless. It similarly lacks the yappiness and token-wasting behavior of previous GPT model, however it did not feel not quite as "expert" as Sol.
Burned 200 million tokens over the past 2 days making a better alternative to the Project Alice AI. People on here criticize LLMs, but none of them are even interested in and thus fail to see the stuff we build in their feed leading to a lopsided appraisal of the technology.
@singhafied these are liberals on their default software tbf. Western liberals were like this too before they conquered the world and had to self-flagellate themselves into oikophobia.
