The CEO of the biggest electricity company in the US is warning that blackouts could hit next year, as AI and data centers drive up electricity demand and strain the grid.
Exelon's CEO Calvin Butler told the Financial Times that Americans could “absolutely” lose power as soon as 2027.
He says that last winter his company nearly limited service for 400,000 customers during extreme cold.
