Britain's supermarkets are struggling to maintain supply for eggs after ignoring warnings that they were failing to compensate farmers for cost increases.

Industry sources admitted that the problem had been foreseeable after the alarm was raised over 6 months ago.

@Charl0ttePerry Hi Charlotte. We are still a free range farm, looking after our birds as best as we can. However due to government law for all owners of poultry, we have to temporarily re-name our eggs 'barn eggs' until the girls are back outside, which hopefully will be in a couple of weeks.
