@smilesinmay because law is taught at undergrad or through a conversion course in the uk the first year/the whole course is just teach them the basics and make them think like a lawyer. since canada’s legal system is pretty similar they do the same p much (according to my canadian colleague)

@smilesinmay will help if you ask for it). the thing people coming from any background tend to struggle with is the start of a law degree is learning the language basically (literal terminology) and, you have to learn particular skills that are unique to law (eg how to read a case properly)

@smilesinmay coming from stem, the thing people tend to find hardest is lack of supervision/contact with teachers and reading workloads. you have to commit yourself because no one will check that you’re doing the work (but ofc, if you need help and seek it, low teaching hours means we always
