Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla shared multiple posts on X insulting French soccer player Kylian Mbappรฉ, saying he is "pretending hard to be French," after his team defeated Paraguay in a World Cup match on Saturday. "This brute never even learned how to write," Amarilla also wrote.
The French team captain, who was born in Paris, fired back on Monday, describing Amarilla's remarks as "brazen racism," adding that she does not represent Paraguay.
"Through your recklessness and your brazen racism, the entire world has already forgotten the journey and the historic effort that your players accomplished during this World Cup, making way for an incompetent woman who gives the worst possible image of her country," Mbappรฉ wrote.
Only 27% of people in the US support the Trump admin's war on Iran, according to a new poll.
The plurality of Americans oppose this war of aggression.
But they have no influence on foreign policy, because the US is an authoritarian imperialist oligarchy.
