"The fundamental unit of biology is therefore not the "self," but the network. A maple tree is a plurality, its individuality a temporary manifestation of relationship."
@elonmusk Demographic transition shows a paradox: more progress, fewer children. A reminder that technological innovation alone doesnโt solve every challenge.
@george__mack The air inside of a plane cabin is drier than the sahara. Dry air breaks down mucus barriers making you more suscpetible to airborne pathogens. Keep your nasal passages moist and stay hydrated. Sanitize everything regularly including your hands.
Today is the last day to see my January photography exhibit on display in the @cityofnovi Civic Center! Thank you so much, Novi, for letting me share my love of nature with everybody who steps through the Civic Center doors. Hope to continue sharing in the future.
@NaanSamantha I have dreams of lost loved ones when my heart rate gets low when I sleep. My mom had similar dreams when she had undxโd sleep apnea. Our brains do weird stuff with low O2. Could be a one off but Iโd keep an eye on a smartwatch for HR/O2 trends & weird dreams.
@De_le_Vega They are all over our neighborhoods in Michigan and they do this all the time. Not saying that hurricanes don't change animal behavior; just that this may not be an example of that.
@NaanSamantha How sweet! We sort of fell off the wagon with Tamil. ๐ We just enrolled the kids in the weekly sangam classes to help out. Hope they pick something up! It's sooo much easier when they're young. She sounds so sweet!
Despite having been to @CranbookHouse dozens of times, this was my first time seeing this #Guanyin statue, a bodhisatva of compassion, in the Sunken Garden. I recently learned that her name is the inspiration behind the #Canon brand name (in Japan, she is known as Kwanon/Kanon).
#SwampMilkweed pods are opening up and releasing seeds around the pond in our backyard. What started with just a few seeds three years ago has now multiplied into hundreds, spreading beautifully. #PureMichigan
#Manoomin (wild rice) once thrived along the Detroit River but nearly vanished due to settlement and pollution. The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi is working to restore it at places like Belle Isle & Humbug Marsh. #Conservation#DetroitRiver
