Last day of #coffinsincontext conference that leaves us intrigued by all the discussions shared and great hopes for future research. Big thanks to our generous host @christs_college , Alex Loktionov, amazing @hmstrudwick & @DawsonJd110 from @FitzMuseum_UK who made it all possible
Day 3 of #coffinsincontext conference .. it’s weekend but we can’t stop talking about the amazing ancient Egyptian coffins and the secrets they keep revealing ! @christs_college@FitzMuseum_UK
Another wonderful experience at @FitzMuseum_UK over the past few weeks working on community engagement projects in Cambridge, planning for more in the future in both Egypt & Uk with @hmstrudwick, and much more that won’t fit in a post. Grateful and hopeful for more to come.
@Eric__INK Problem is the government just appointed a new minister. This caused some confusion in terms of what will happen when. To be honest I prefer waiting longer and have the whole museum open rather than a partial opening too soon. It’s just that it’s too exciting to wait any longer !
A talk by @hmstrudwick@DawsonJd110 who will share the results of their research on the development of coffin styles and how studying the work of the craftsmen who created them contributes to our understanding. The talk is hosted by Egypt Designers School, this Tuesday at 7:00 pm
(2/2) This is the first in a series of monthly conversation pieces co-written with community participants and collaborators which we hope will help to inform a new mode of museum practice, engagement and display for Egyptian collections internationally. @ccwm_sydney
(1/2) Fortunate to have the opportunity to use @EgyptianStreets as a platform for sharing thoughts and ideas that colleagues, consulting community members and I have around museological matters, Egyptian communities and their dispersed cultural heritage.
