@AuthorDrea @WritingofJ Scrivener is so convenient! I really wish I had found it while I was still in school, would have made essay writing so much easier.
I haven’t been doing a lot of writing recently, but I have been doing a lot of lino printing and I’m thoroughly enjoying the way my drying wall is looking right now
Woke up feeling like today would suck, was promptly proven right when I walked my dog and another dog came up to us and peed on my leg.
Can’t wait to see what else the day has in store for me…
@ScoutIsNotFunny It’s definitely going to be a hot one. I got up early to walk the dog while that’s still possible. Now I’m sitting in the shade in my garden with a coffee until it gets too hot for that. I hope you find a way to keep somewhat cool
@theoneginevra I don’t have one favourite. But my favourites are usually authors that I will return to again and again throughout the years. They will have one or more books I want to keep rereading. Or they do something in their books that speaks to me, something I want to learn from.
@pagesofhayley@chamomeriam Easy, find moments you don’t absolutely love, cut those, then rewrite them so they sound better but use even more words than before… that’s what I do at least.
@WillHamannA California rain is definitely something special. I used to live in SoCal and when it finally rained, I would run outside and dance around in it. So much joy in those moments.
Now I live in the UK, so get plenty of rain, still love it.
Just did 4 figure drawing sketches in 45 min. They are messy & my hand is cramping, but it was so much fun to just draw, fast, loose, no worry about the end result.
Doing stuff just for the process, whether that’s drawing or writing can be incredibly valuable. Highly recommend.
No pictures of my crochet exist cause I still suck at it, but I did manage to find one of me making a potted plant hanger.
Anywho, you can find more like this and lots of other stuff on my insta:

I have a feeling I’ll be getting into a lot of procrastinative creativity… creative procrastinating… not doing what I’m supposed to but pretending it’s because I’m being pulled in a different creative direction.
Why is it so hard to find the will to edit?
And I have even more commitment issues when it comes to other creative endeavours?
I jump from Lino printing to digital art to crochet like we’re playing a game of the ground is lava and no one hobby can keep me safe from the heat for long.
@raaaaaaaaaaaine Same. I can enjoy it just fine if someone I’m hanging with wants to watch, but I’m not going to go search it out.
But I’m also generally way more into fantasy than I am sci-fi/space opera.
I have a queen bed that I share with my 8kg dog. Somehow, I often find myself waking up pushed to the side, butt hanging over the edge, and barely enough duvet to cover me. I don’t know how such a small being manages to take up so much space.
