come honor jordan neely, a black unhoused tenant murdered in the subway yesterday by a white marine. this vigilante terror is a direct result of nyc’s cop mayor and the crime panic, which scapegoats the victims of real estate for the consequences of real estate greed.
One of the main features of living in a carceral state is through the deployment of regular people as Cops. Focusing solely on removing the police from “mental health crisis situations” or abolishing police forces isn’t even enough. We need to decarcerate *ourselves.*
Can you help us transcribe essays from incarcerated writers? Come type for liberation over Zoom on May 4, at 8pm.
In The Belly is a journal for Incarcerated people practicing abolition. It is free for all incarcerated people.

Happy to see so many folks I love & admire on this list, including my bestie @monicatea2 on the Arts & Culture subcommittee. Undoing & healing & getting to the root causes of decades of harm and organized/systemic abandonment is a helluva task; lots of work ahead for all of us!
Meet my Transition Committee and Subcommittee Co-Chairs!
I’ve long said that in order to build a better, stronger, safer Chicago, we need everyone who can help at the table. That’s what’s reflected in these appointments. https://t.co/hxuai10lOx
Tonight, we have shown the world the power of hope, the strength of organizing, and the might of our collective voice.
Tomorrow, the real work begins. We will build a safer, stronger Chicago that reflects the hopes and dreams of every one of us — together.
Our family’s all in for @Brandon4Chicago cuz we want a mayor who has been& will be accountable to the movements for justice in this city. So glad #ThisYoungAdult’s first mayoral election includes a candidate we can wholeheartedly vote for. #BrandonIsBetter#Artists4BrandonJohnson
I find real value in @JaymalGreen endorsing Vallas. It teaches us how unprincipled people can be. This is a learning opportunity for us to strengthen our ethics and raise our standards for what we allow in and near movement spaces.
From Chicago with love —
Our movements build on top of each other. Before #StopCopCity, there was #NoCopAcademy. Like Destiny said yesterday, solidarity is the most important. Your fight is ours and our fight is yours.
