Today, six more of America’s finest are coming home through Dover, just like my brothers from Benghazi did. The dignified transfer ceremony has yet to start, but soon these six will walk the same path, greeted by the soil they defended and the flag they gave everything for.
We honor Maj. Jeffrey R. O’Brien, Capt. Cody A. Khork, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan, Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, and Sgt. Declan J. Coady. We are thankful to all who came before them, standing on the frontlines in the long fight against terrorism.
I remember my brothers coming home, the weight of that moment, the silence, the pride, and the heartbreak all at once. Every time this happens again, as others return in flagged coffins in the years that followed, we are reminded that every life lost in this fight matters and that the cost of service is carried by countless families and warriors.
To all who have served, to my brothers, to these six today, and to everyone who never came home, we remember you, we thank you, and we honor you. 🇺🇸
God is God. I dethrone Him in my heart if I demand that He act in ways that satisfy my idea of justice. It is the same spirit that taunted, “If Thou be the Son of God, come down from the Cross.” - Elisabeth Elliot
@JackPosobiec God Himself is our strong tower, our shield, our refuge. In the shadow of His wings we find our protection. We do not need extra adornments. He even gives to us the armor of God! He has not asked us to put our faith and hope in these extra adornments. Put your faith in HIM!
The news feels dark. I’m thankful that this is our Father’s world. His eternal plan of redemption is going off without a hitch. Nothing surprises him or takes him aback. He’s not ignoring injustice, evil, or pain. He sees it all. His wrath is kindling against wickedness, and one day He will come back to do away with all of it. He will save His people once and for all, and the blood of the innocent will be avenged. One day there will be no more sin, sadness, sickness, hunger, abuse, abortion, corruption, politics, gender confusion, or war. Just perfect peace and justice forever. Even if everything else feels hopeless—take heart in this
There is NOTHING like the Bible.
No matter what I read, it has the simultaneous effect of calming me and emboldening me.
Read the living Word of God today.
470 years ago today, protestants Hugh Latimer and Nicholas Ridley were burned at the stake for the preaching and proclaiming of the gospel. After being sentenced in his trial, Latimer thanked God for giving him a death that would glorify his God.
In the midst of his execution Latimer extolled Ridley: "Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out."
