President Michael D. Higgins and his wife Sabina are sad to confirm that Bród, one of their two Bernese Mountain Dogs, has passed away at just past the age of 11. Bród was 11 years and two months at Áras an Uachtaráin, having come to the Áras as a 8 week old puppy.

When we scanned her for a microchip & looked up her details on the FIDO database we couldn't believe that she had been flagged as "Lost/Stolen 2 years ago from Galway". Baya was found in the middle of a busy road here in Dublin. #Dog #dspca

We are officially closed to intake for the forseeable future. We have 90 dogs, a vet bill which has risen again to 50k and nobody wants to work. The pounds are full and rescue is on its knees. If... and I mean if, we do reopen our doors, it will certainly be 2023.
