Successful morning for our RaCi SLT @SarahMcSALT assessing a recently extubated patient who can eat and drink normal diet and fluids (IDDSI 7,0).

Our enhanced SLT presence in our ITU's allow us to safely provide patients with oral diet sooner whilst reducing potential aspiration

Had a great joint kitchen assessment with OT. Our RaCI patient who is a chef made us microwave mug cakes. His second cake passed our taste test 👍 @Marion12377410

Today one of my patients asked where I was from. When I said Texas, she asked “do you have a horse and a big hat?” She was unable to hide her disappointment when I replied “no, but I do have cowboy boots!”

One of our RaCI patients had an amazing day today! He stood up for the first time, got his customised wheelchair, read a sentence for the first time, and is close to being ready to have his PEG removed due to great oral intake 🥹 @DomMcQue @SarahHarkess @Marion12377410
