Had six hours of Safeguarding Lead refresher training this week, as you do!
As ever, finished the day thinking with all that's expected of #Headteachers, & our responsibility as the "front line" & "silver bullet" for society, how can there be any time left to do our actual job!๐ค
Does HMCI really need to spend the first 100 dayโs โlisteningโ? Thereโs already strong evidence about what needs to change. The framework, the summary judgment, the high stakes. This is all very well known.
We need swift action.
Why I won't shut up: a short. When I first started blogging & tweeting about the damage Ofsted was doing, I was accused of scaremongering & blowing things out of proportion. But I was being contacted by distressed HTs, some of whom were either in, or on the verge of, crisis. 1/
@Believeinyoung@SchoolsWeek We are educators not social workers, of course we should be part of the process but not leading it- we havenโt had the training, this is not our role.
Shouldn't Ofsted be having training sessions to address the behaviour of some of their inspectors, given findings of Ruth Perry inquest & concerns about the inspector who "lacked fairness, respect and sensitivity" & was at times "rude and intimidating"? We urgently need to deal with the root cause rather than manage the impact. #PauseAndReform
