Although the important point is: who is going to be affected by the job I do? Those are the main characters of the story and the ones that often get missed. The first point was useful to get me to think outside the box though.
I heard once to work as if your boss/company was your client. They pay you for a service. As a freelancer I would do my best. That changed my mindset and allowed me to be more proactive rather than reactive even when my “client” was also my “boss”.
Having a sense of agency (the power/ability to make choices and act on them freely) is more important than improvement skills or resources or methods when it comes to making change happen. When we can go & take action, things change. Feelings of powerlessness dissipate & old assumptions fall away. As change leaders, helping others to build their agency is one of our most important tasks: https://t.co/eZDhFTHZyd By @samxyuan Graphic: by me (designed for @sch4ch)
Great to spend time last week at @GrangeCritCare in @AneurinBevanUHB demonstrating the WICIS system developed to support clinicians within Wales. Plans are being made to run similar sessions at all other sites where WICIS will be implemented #WICIS#DigitalCriticalCare
What you can achieve when you give competent people autonomy rather than try to impose unnecessary hierarchy on them. Learning from the way that Formula One transformed itself & its performance: a graphic story from @voinonen. It's brilliant & very funny: https://t.co/GlF2LJPWQn
“Know Thyself” was written above the temple of Apollo at Delphi. Hundreds attended the temple to receive the oracle from the Pythia or high priestess. The maxim was clear: understand yourself as a way to understand your world, to know your path and to embrace it.
Can anyone help me with my research study? If you're a nurse working in a secure/ forensic setting and could spare an hour to share your experience about constant observations in a zoom interview please email me 18079059@[email protected]
I find the idea of using the #metaverse for #healthcare exciting and a bit scary at the same time. We can open a whole new universe to those that can’t physically (or for mental reasons) come to a brick hospital. Paradoxically it can make us more isolated than ever before.
There were tons more to learn during this week but I can’t fit them on Twitter. But fundamentally I made new connections to great human beings that taught me so much. People first. Technology second.
