@kaitlancollins Do people really believe that a high amount of fentanyl is going from Canada to the US? And more importantly that the tariffs are about fentanyl?!
And, Trump doesn’t even understand how the Canadian Parliamentary system works. He’s a bully and a disgrace. #ElbowsUpCanada 🇨🇦
Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s explanation for socializing with Jeffrey Epstein:
"…I run into everybody in New York. I mean, I knew Harvey Weinstein, I knew Roger Ailes, I knew -- O.J. Simpson came to my house. Bill Cosby came to my house.”
When people see the maple leaf, they see possibility. They see freedom. They see a helping hand.
They see Canada, and the best of our values.
Happy 60th to our flag. 🇨🇦
@localpodcaster it might not seem like it right now, but doing exactly this could save someone’s life. Men, especially in sports, aren’t known for being so candid about feelings. This makes a difference and opens conversation. I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️
August 3rd. 9:34 pm, Shawn texts me. “Hey, I’m in some real trouble.” After a few texts I find out where he is. I quickly call Ian Mendes. Without hesitation Ian and our friend Rich, who works at the Royal Ottawa agree to help find Simmer. When we finally track him down, he’s appreciative that we’re there. It’s emotional. There are tears. While Ian stays with Simmer, Rich and I are on the phone, calling mental health professionals, doing everything we can to get him help.
That’s when I look back and see Ian and Simmer and I’m crushed. Ian is holding Shawn’s hand, telling him we will take care of him. This is a picture of what true friendship looks like.
Eventually, Ian and Rich take Shawn to the hospital and get him admitted. That night, as I drove home, I was an emotional mess. It was one of the hardest days of my life. What if we hadn’t responded?
For the next three days, we didn’t leave his side. Ian stayed with Shawn through the night. Rich came for a few hours. I sat with him during the day. We got him into a treatment program, and things started looking up. Simmer was doing great. We talked or texted every day. Yorkie, Rich, and I visited him and helped to celebrate his birthday. He had an aftercare plan, medication, and support. We hired him full-time on the podcast. We truly believed this was the help he needed.
Ian, Rich, and I had a group chat dedicated to helping Shawn, making sure we were always there for him and for each other.
But today, I feel like I let a teammate down.
People always say, "Make sure you check in." We did. But it wasn’t enough. Shawn, I’m sorry.
I want Canada and America to be the richest, most prosperous, safest and most successful countries on the planet. Canada has the critical minerals, oil and nuclear energy needed to make it happen. Let’s get to work and build Fortress Am-Can.
The asshole who is responsible for this tragedy should have to watch this on loop. All of them are struggling, but Guy is just broken. So heartbreaking 💔
I’m 53 years old and I’m gonna be completely honest and say there’s at least a solid hour of entertainment here for me if I entered this room right now.
Flyers Head Coach John Tortorella called Guy Gaudreau and asked him to come to and help coach practice today as a way to support the Gaudreau family. I hope we see even more of Guy with hockey supporting the Gaudreau family.
The bowels of the Saddledome literally smell like purple Gatorade as the bottles were emptied yesterday as part of the thoughtful dissemination of items from the Gaudreau memorial. These sticks will be made into benches dedicated to the memory of Johnny and Matthew.
