📢 Reliance to Enter Ammonia, Nitrates, and Explosives Business
📌 Update: Reliance Industries received shareholder approval on 20 Aug'26 to alter its Memorandum of Association, enabling entry into the chemicals and explosives sector. The amended objects clause allows the company to produce, trade, and deal in ammonia, nitric acid, and various grades of ammonium nitrate (AN), including for explosives like ANFO. The expansion covers related downstream products such as fertilisers and agro-chemicals. The special resolution passed with 99.9967% of votes in favour, signaling strong shareholder support for this strategic diversification into industrial and defence-related chemicals.

President Trump’s trade war has played to China’s advantages.
The way to win is not to become China but to remain America — in fact, to double down on what has always made America great.
My take:
While Adam Smith “won the battle of ideas” over economics back in the late 1700s, it’s important to recognize now that maybe the mercantilists got some things right https://t.co/q2NZXPLnh2
What companies are capitalizing on the world's huge investments in data centers, aside from chip giants like $NVDA and $AMD?
Here's a new infographic that we've just created, featuring 35+ companies providing power distribution, security, and cooling solutions for data centers:
Batteries play a critical role in three national infrastructure layers: Communication ; Energy Storage and Transport.
Today, China dominates the lithium-ion battery value chain—raw materials, cell manufacturing, pack assembly, and crucially, the deep know-how in process engineering and IP protection. Over 75% of global battery production happens in China.
India must build deep industrial and design capabilities.
In my article in today’s @bsindia I spell out a five-point agenda to press the accelerator :
I was the deputy assistant secretary of State handling US-India ties at a time when many worked to depoliticize relations. That's now being reversed, with consequences that could be catastrophic. This piece tries to capture the danger of re-politicization. https://t.co/yLQmvh01QX
“If there was only one university in the world I could hire from, it would be the IITs.”
-@BillGates
With 1.3 million kids applying for one of 18,160 seats, the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are the toughest undergrad engineering program to get admitted to. The admit rate is just 1.4% versus 4.7% for @MIT . This year 489 @DakshanaIndia Scholars took the IIT entrance exam and 329 were accepted as IITians, a success rate of 67%!
5% of all IIT seats are reserved for kids with physical disabilities. At @DakshanaIndia, we have had a special focus on disabled kids almost since inception. This year we prepared 33 severely disabled kids for the IIT entrance exam and 26 of them were accepted by the IITs – a 79% success rate! @DakshanaIndia's topper was Lakhan Mahali who ranked 2nd in the country among tribals with disabilities admitted to the IITs. He will be studying Computer Science at IIT Delhi! Congrats Lakhan!
Lakhan has extreme locomotor disability in both hands with an irregular bone structure. He cannot lift heavy objects. He can hold a pen and write only for a few minutes. After that unbearable pain radiates from his fingers to his wrist and then on to his elbow, forcing him to drop his pen. The pain subsides after a few minutes; he can resume writing and the cycle repeats. It is a genetic condition. His younger brother has a similar locomotor disability affecting his back which makes it hard for him to walk even for short distances.
Lakhan’s family lives in Rapcha village in a remote corner of the State of Jharkhand. Lakhan’s mother is illiterate, and his father never finished 10th grade. Both parents are unskilled laborers making under $1.50/day each. They live in extreme poverty in a 250 sq. ft home with no indoor plumbing or regular electric service. Any possible surgery that could have helped him was never explored and not an option.
While Lakhan has great difficulty with traditional writing and lifting heavy objects, he faces no issues with using a laptop or tablet. In 2029, when he graduates from IIT Delhi, his family’s financial struggles will finally be over and we at Dakshana are stoked about our small role in his journey.

Another thread of #Hormuz strait and #Iran's threat to close. it.
1- For Iran to close the Strait, it means occupation and the taking over of Oman's waters where most of ships go through. This will immediately invoke the defense pact of the GCC: it means war among all.

This isn’t just a regional war.
It’s a test of global nerves, nuclear restraint, and economic interdependence.
One misstep, and the world changes overnight.
🕊️ or 🔥 — no one knows yet.

The Iran-Israel conflict reignited last week.
Netanyahu isn’t just after deterrence — he wants regime change.
And he’s unlikely to back down till that’s on the table.
He wants US backing.

So the real billion-dollar (or trillion-dollar) question:
Will there be WW3?
Markets don’t know.
Diplomats don’t know.
Even AI doesn’t know.
But capital is watching every move. Closely.
