@welikeduel l’intervento di @paolocelata a commento dell’intervista di @FranceskAlbs l’ho trovato incomprensibile. Come si fa a mis-interpretare in quel modo le posizioni di Albanese? Anche il riferimento a Mandela (fondatore dell’ala militare dell’ANC) era chiarissimo.

Journalists can be exhausting. Hard to believe some of them spent years studying and training only to end up in front of an icon of our time and ask about (propaganda) sandwiches and “Did you really think you could break the blockade?”
This can’t be the job one loves.

As for the blockade—Madleen, as the rest of the Flotilla, has done more to challenge it than almost anyone I can name, except the Palestinians themselves. Because to break it, you first have to see it. And too many—journalists, politicians, even the rest of us—had stopped seeing altogether. It took absurd violence for us to start seeing again. And it is still taking the lives of millions. And counting.

Questo signore si chiama Zoltan Kovacs ed è segretario di Stato ungherese e portavoce del primo ministro Orban.
Tale signore, in preda a un’evidente frustrazione, si esprime in questi termini nei confronti di una cittadina italiana ed europea, di una deputata del Parlamento Europeo.

In un vero Stato di diritto, nessuno può essere dichiarato colpevole prima di un verdetto della magistratura. Ma in Ungheria, come ampiamente dimostrato, questo principio elementare appare del tutto estraneo al governo.

C’è però qualcosa di ancora più inquietante: nella democrazia illiberale di Orban, gli oppositori politici non devono avere diritto di parola.

Secondo il signor Kovacs, infatti, io non dovrei poter parlare in televisione ma stare in prigione. Ancora. Lì dove ho già trascorso, da innocente, 15 mesi in via cautelare. Rinchiusa e trattata come un animale.

Gli oppositori politici devono essere ridotti al silenzio, con la forza o, quando non è possibile esercitarla, con la minaccia.
Ogni volta che prendo parola, in Parlamento o sui media, vengo attaccata sistematicamente da esponenti del governo ungherese o dai loro alleati di estrema destra, che non si limitano agli insulti, ma arrivano a invocare per me una pena esemplare.

Nonostante queste continue pressioni, continuerò a testa alta a difendere gli ideali in cui credo.
Oltre agli antifascisti, auspico che tutta l’#Europa democratica comprenda la gravità di ciò che sta accadendo in #Ungheria, un paese ormai in piena deriva autoritaria. Un pericolo per tutti noi.

Trump insiste ancora una volta che i palestinesi se ne devono andare da Gaza. Non hanno alternative se non quella di lasciare Gaza e possono risistemarsi, spostarsi, trasferirsi in Giordania e in Egitto. Deportazione. Si chiama deportazione e, dall'altra prospettiva - quella israeliana - è la realizzazione della pulizia etnica di cui ha scritto Ilan Pappè già tanti anni fa, riferendosi a quella del 1948. Come fossero dei pacchi. Persone come fossero dei pacchi. Due milioni di oggetti spostati su una scacchiera: così sono trattati i palestinesi. Così, lontano da Gaza, si programma e s'organizza, come se non vi fossero un'etica, delle precise responsabilità (anche giudiziarie), e degli atti da compiere. Nessuna idea che i due milioni di palestinesi, oltre a essere vivi e sopravvissuti, siano in sé stessi (fuori dalle fazioni palestinesi) un vero e proprio soggetto politico, proprio per il 'banale' fatto di esistere.
Non è solo un'idea nata in un contesto, come quello del potere Trump-Musk, in cui il legame con i dati di realtà è saltato a favore di un senso della forza e della forza dei soldi spacciato per una ipermodernità cinica ed efficiente che ragiona in fretta. Una ipermodernità presunta che non ha bisogno di democrazia e la trova, anzi, d'intralcio.
E' anche un'idea vecchia, così terribilmente vecchia che pensa che il mondo sia ancora quello in cui, colonialismi ancora vigorosi, si potevano spostare centinaia di migliaia di persone, anche in Europa, perché lo si era deciso a tavolino. Il 1945 è lontano, lontano molto più di quanto lo sia Marte. Magari non sarà meglio, questo che è diventato in tutto e per tutto un mondo di merda [cit.], ma di certo è anni luce diverso dal 1945. Non comprendere questo, vuol dire condurre tutti verso un cataclisma i cui contorni non possiamo nemmeno immaginare.

Does it make a difference if the "terrorists" are not labeled "Islamic"? Beyond the rampant racism of this tweet (for which a political leader should be held accountable more than average citizens), one could read this, mutatis mutandis, the making of a case for Palestine and the Palestinian people, who have been for decades "under attack", "facing an existential threat", "slaughtered and raped", "taken hostage", as well as tormented, punished, persecuted, maimed, killed by Israeli soldiers and/or armed settlers.
We should expect seriousness and composure from political leaders, and ability to confront truths and acknowledge the suffering that’s often overlooked.

Why a father needs to endure this?

And it did not start 13 months ago. While the violence against the Palestinians has since then escalated at unprecedented fast pace, Israel has globally killed, maimed, made orphans and homeless, kidnapped and held hostage, tortured and raped, tormented and persecuted millions of Palestinians since its inception as a State and more forcefully since 1967.

Palestinians are a nation of Nakba survivors, who have never ceded sovereignty over their land, and who have been forced to live with, or at the conditions set by, their oppressor for decades.

May the current tragedy lead to much needed reckoning with the Past and Justice.
