Both accidents occurred in places where Cambridge has added dedicated bike lanes, and in one case the lane has some separation from traffic. It's unclear if these lanes played any part in the collisions.
Back when I ran this account regularly, and sarcastically, one of the things I'd do with regularity was drop the sarcasm to talk about the dangers of trucks and busses to cyclists.
With two cyclists killed by trucks in Cambridge in a week, I had to come back here.
The group responsible for the deaths is the group that should be shouldering the bulk of the cost and responsibility. That's not city street design. It's truck design.
I think if we just keep our mouths shut and our heads down, all this bigotry and horribleness in Arkansas and elsewhere will just blow over, right?
That's what history teaches me anyway.
