It was a beautiful weekend to get out with our partner agencies Kananaskis Mountain Rescue & Alberta Parks for a mock training search exercise in the Sheep River area. Big thanks to these remarkable professionals, and the work they do keeping us safe in the backcountry.
FSAR was proud to join Alberta Parks for Winter Safety Day at Burstall Pass yesterday, in beautiful Kananaskis country. Thank you everyone who attended, and for taking the time to learn about proper winter equipment. We look forward to next year's event!
We are beyond grateful for all of the SAR volunteers across the province who have dedicated so much of their time to supporting Albertans last month.

Fantastic night meeting with members from the Search and Rescue Dog Association of Canada - SARDAC. Having highly trained canine assistance on a search increases the probability of a subject being located quickly. Great to meet you all and hope to work with you soon!
Happy New Year! We hope you have a safe and prosperous 2023; As always, if you have a search and rescue emergency, always call 9-1-1 first. Most people may not know, but we are activated by a tasking agency such as the RCMP, to aid as needed. Enjoy the rest of the holiday season!
