Cochrane's professional volunteer SAR team were on formal standby this past long weekend. A total of 35 individual members volunteered to remain close to home and be ready for immediate deployment if our local tasking agencies needed our services throughout the Bow Valley.
Members of Cochrane Search and Rescue and Foothills Search and Rescue are currently responding to a missing persons search southwest of Longview.
If in the area, please give space to our vehicles and members as they execute their search.
CSAR deployed 22 members yesterday, February 18th, to search for Joan McGreggor.
We want to share this request for residents in Canmore to check their personal and/or business cameras in the hopes of spotting Joan and helping locate her.

This Sunday Cochrane Search and Rescue will be running an Urban Mock Search starting at 14:30. People can expect to see our members in their red jackets on trails throughout Cochrane from 15:00 onwards, please feel free to say hello!
Last weekend members from across the organization came together to participate in SAR Basics training. Congratulations to our new Operational Members and a massive thank you to our dedicated team who sacrificed countless hours to make the training happen.

Yesterday, members conducted a mock training search scenario for a missing 5 year old boy.
Members did a fantastic job of searching multiple areas of interest which ultimately resulted in the successful reuniting of the missing boy and his family.

Last night some of our members were in attendance as first aid providers at the @hometownhockey_ event at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre in partnership with the @TownofCochrane Fire Service.

Emergency services from across Rocky View County gathered in Bragg Creek on Thursday to hold their first evacuation exercise in more than two years. Officials say the hamlet was chosen because of its susceptibility to both wildfires and floods.
We are happy to report that missing person Allan James who we were looking for is no longer missing and is safe/well.
