A tradition from the days of hand-pushing-horse-drawn apparatus after calls, push-in ceremonies celebrate new equipment, teamwork and community.
RMES remains fully operational and responding to calls.
We are so grateful for the community’s support. Together, we can #RebuildRMES
Thankfully no lives were lost, but the damage is significant.
We've launched a fundraising website to help rebuild what was lost: https://t.co/gJkInOoXfL.
Every donation, big or small, brings RMES closer to restoring the space.
Together, we can #RebuildRMES.
Our community needs us more than ever.
This past week, RMES experienced a devastating loss when a fire destroyed our back hall. While we remain fully operational and ready to respond, the back hall was a place that housed trucks and extensive equipment.
Every second counts when we respond to structure fires.
Every firefighter has a role based on the seat they’re sitting in on the Engine: Driver/Pump Operator, Officer/Incident Commander, Nozzle, Equipment and Hydrant.
Tuesday night training
focused on drilling ‘Riding Roles’.
Tuesday night training focused on practicing with our new @AMKUSrescue cutters, spreaders and ram supplied by Trans-Care Rescue Our current equipment is 32-years old and in need of replacement. Huge thanks to Redwood Meadows council for their support of this lifesaving equipment.
Our biggest fundraiser is this Saturday July 19 at our new location, across from the Bragg Creek Community Centre, in the parking lot by Korner Kitchen, 16 White Ave. See you there from 07:30!
Environment Canada has issued a tornado watch.
This alert is in effect for Rocky View County near Bragg Creek and Tsuut'ina Nation.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to develop along the Foothills this afternoon and evening and will move the southeast. These thunderstorms may be capable of producing a tornado in addition to damaging hail, heavy rain and strong wind gusts.
Take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. In the event of a tornado - Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.
This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes
