Not all shelter dogs have a happy beginning, but we make sure they have a happy ending! ❤️

At Charlie Mike, we adopt #dogs from shelters & place them with #Veterans in need of companionship. It’s a win-win situation. So far, our Canine Battle Buddies program has trained multiple dogs who have gone on to live with their loving Veterans.

Meet Charlie!

We adopted Charlie from the Burlington Animal Shelter in NC. He was the first #dog to join Charlie Mike. Although we don’t know much about where he came from, it was clear from the beginning that he just wanted love & attention.

When we first got him, he was unsure of what was going on & had no obedience under his belt. Now, he’s the star at Charlie Mike, & he’s greatly exceeded our expectations for shelter dogs. He is so smart & so loyal. This week he's even going home with his #Veteran! The ultimate success story! We are SO happy for Charlie.

Meet River!

We adopted River from the Guilford County Animal Shelter in NC. We were told that she was found hiding under a car in a neighborhood. When we first met River, shy and scared was an understatement.

River wasn't taking well to the shelter environment, and on top of that, she was suffering from Kennel Cough AND had just undergone surgery to be spayed. Needless to say, she wasn’t feeling her best, and it took us over two weeks to nurse her back to health. Now, River is a happy, confident girl who is killing her Battle Buddy training! What a success story!

Meet Marcus!

We adopted Marcus from the Orange County Animal Shelter in NC. We originally visited the shelter that day to just look around, but when we arrived, we heard about a really sweet Rottweiler in the back. When we went back there, we saw an absolute wiggle butt who was dying for attention! We brought him out and quickly realized he had what it took to be a Charlie Mike Battle Buddy.

We don’t know much about where he came from, but we do know that he is young and full of drive. He has done well throughout his training and has now been adopted by a #Veteran! Hooray for Marcus!
