with our PharmD and NP colleagues clinically leading the charge on psychedelic pharmacology and drug interactions, what do you think is the role of the psychedelic psychiatrist now and in the future? Comment with your thoughts!
@PsilocybinOR Underground providers often have a massive breadth of knowledge and experience in working with entheogens. Much respect to the ethical and safe underground folks out there quietly healing.
The OHSU's OPEN Network (https://t.co/iBYLfIdDVM) is looking for #research participants that are #harmreduction experts, providers, current #psilocybin users and those considering use, to engage in an interview process aimed to identify best practices to mitigate risks/harms.
Can #psilocybin and other #psychedelics help heal #intergenerational#trauma as a result of military occupation, colonialism, war, slavery, abuse, assimilation trauma, and other wounds that go beyond the individual life? Chime in!
@chrisaikenmd@PMasand MDMA-AP trial doc here. Few reasons: 1) low dose MDMA seems to be more stimulating than empathogenic, presenting unique challenges 2) there's lotsa active placebo data from phase 1 & 2 trials. The FDA recognizes unblinding is impossible to avoid.

@SouthieSean @justin_garson First you say psychiatrists should have lived experience, then you say that would be faulty methodology. Make up your mind. Your analogy is absolutely out of pocket.
@justin_garson@RianKMD The median four-year cost of public medical schools is $268,476. Do you realize that's an insane number to pay in order to feel powerful when, instead of putting my refugee parents through hell, I could have just voiced my opinions on Twitter? I'm honestly appalled.
@justin_garson @AndreaB63735256 In 2023, it was found that 22.5% of hospital psychiatrists had depression. The # for anxiety is higher. Most of us have experiential knowledge of exactly what you're describing.
@justin_garson After seeing a lot of opinions on Twitter by philosophers over the past hour, I realized what I detest most: no matter how opinionated, a philosopher will spend more time criticizing than helping. Blanket judgements of a career path after a few conferences is unhelpful and stupid
