#UCDavis researchers are using puzzle boxes, rain sticks & papier-mâché balls to study captive gray wolves at the Oakland Zoo & California Wolf Center. The novel research is evaluating the personality and problem-solving skills of the endangered animals. https://t.co/PcigGP0j0v

1/6 Body temperature (BT) is a valuable physiological parameter as it is related to animal key body functions. Infrared Technology (IRT) allows the study of thermal biology. BT serves as a proxy of health, metabolic rate, stress state and links them with behaviour. #AnimBehav2021
1 #AnimBehav2021 How do ecological and social traits shape cognition? We used a battery of tests to assess the cognitive abilities of the highly frugivorous, fission-fusion dependent spider monkey🐒, and discuss the results based on the socioecological relevance of the skills.
(1/6) Observing animal behavior has become more accessible with recent tools like the ZooMonitor app. To ensure multiple observers are consistently identifying animal behaviors, researchers rely on reliability testing as a crucial internal validation process. #AnimBehav2021
My husband is conducting interviews today. He’s the biggest goober you’ve ever met and honestly just wants to see people excited to work there. Idk what position you’re holding back applying for but just do it - you never know if you’ll have that one thing your interviewer wants.
