This is why voters don’t trust us. They see people in the party prioritize personal grievances over policies that matter to them. The message is “my personal grievance matters more than your quality of life” so they act accordingly. Extremely disappointing to say the least.
I don’t get what Mills is doing here. Run or don’t run! Everyone is worried about this race and desperate to win it, but her response throughout has just been to half-ass her way through it.
Look if you're mad about Graham Platner being the Democratic nominee in Maine you should actually be mad at Chuck Schumer and the DSCC for having six years to find a challenger to 73 year old Susan Collins and ending up pushing out 78 year old Janet Mills.
One of our nation’s most precious resources is the willingness of young men & women to put on the uniform and lay down their lives for our country. It must never be abused.
Susan Collins clearly has no respect for it, though. She blames us for serving in the wars she sent us to.
18 year olds who enlisted in the military made their own choice, ok, fine, but senators with fully formed frontal cortexes bear a bit more responsibility for sending them
Axelrod: There are a lot of people who would like you to run for president in 2028. And there are others who would like you to run for the senate.
AOC: In this op-ed that Bezos paid for in The Washington Post, there was a veiled threat—it was the elite saying if you want this job, you just stepped out of line. What’s funny about that is they assume my ambition is positional. They assume my ambition is a title or a seat. My ambition is way bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country. Presidents come and go, elected officials come and go, single payer healthcare is forever.
Wrote and said this elsewhere, but Virginia Dems need to pack the state Supreme Court and should’ve leveled the threat as soon as the first Republican judge ruled against the map the Virginia public voted for.
Even as Democrats turned Virginia from a red state to a blue state, they never bothered to change the Supreme Court because that would be seen as a radical challenge to norms and institutions. And today that hesitancy came back to bite them, that's the lesson here
has anyone provided a logical explanation why trump went from shunning this event for years to suddenly deciding his entire administration had to be there?
@BenMillerise@KathleenBushJo2 Also Bowser has been in office for over 10 years, so if you’re upset with how things are I don’t see why Bowser isn’t responsible for that?
washingtonians pushing back against the normalization of a military occupation of their city is not “the worst in people and society” — it’s a reasonable and justifiable position
we should all be mad that the national guard is being used as political props by the president!
@wmataGM@wmata@DCGuard1802@FTA_DOT@USDOT Really, Randy?
You see this as “people helping people” and not as a massive overreach and abuse of power over the residents of DC? They can go help the citizens in their own communities- we don’t want them here.
