@GooglePayIndia@IOBIndia I request @IOBIndia and @KarurVysyaBank_ to review this case at the appropriate senior level and provide a clear written explanation of what action was taken to recover the amount.
I also request @RBI and @RBIsays to clarify the further remedy available.

It’s been 3+ months. ₹10,000 is locked, but KVB says it can’t be returned because the recipient is non-responsive.
If notices fail, what is the recourse for a middle-class sender? Must I go to court for locked funds?

I am publicly raising this issue because my ₹10,000 wrong UPI transfer is still not recovered despite following the available complaint process.
On 11 July 2026 at 7:05 PM, I accidentally sent ₹10,000 through Google Pay due to a typing error.
The money went to an unknown beneficiary with whom I have never had any personal or financial relationship.

@GooglePayIndia Hi @GooglePayIndia , my UTR is 619295052539. I’m unable to find the DM option on your profile. Please enable/open DMs so I can share the complaint details and supporting information privately.
@GooglePayIndia Hi Geet, thank you for responding.
The ₹10,000 UPI transaction was reported immediately, and I have already followed the bank, RBI and Cyber Crime complaint processes, but the amount remains unrecovered.
I will share the transaction and complaint details in DM.
@GooglePayIndia@IOBIndia Three months have now passed.
I am not asking for someone else's money. I am asking for a proper investigation, coordination between the remitter and beneficiary banks, and a fair attempt to recover my own money.
@GooglePayIndia@IOBIndia I was informed that the beneficiary bank, KVB, could not reach the recipient and therefore the amount could not be recovered through the process followed.
The matter was subsequently closed, but my ₹10,000 has still not been returned.
@GooglePayIndia@IOBIndia I also reported the matter through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.

I have the transaction proof, bank complaint records, written complaint, Indemnity Undertaking and other supporting documents.
@GooglePayIndia@IOBIndia I clearly explained that the transfer was accidental and that I had no prior transaction or relationship with the beneficiary.
I also followed up through the relevant banking channels and submitted a complaint through the RBI Complaint Management System.
I immediately reported the transaction to IOB and contacted @GooglePayIndia. I was directed to my bank.
I then submitted a formal complaint to @IOBIndia and personally visited the IOB Ilayangudi Branch with a written complaint and Indemnity Undertaking.
