The Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon is Rooted in Christ: our 95 parishes stretch from Macklin & Burstall in west to Kelvington, Wadena & Foam Lake in east
Jesus came to save us & show us God’s love. Through His life, death & resurrection, Jesus made it possible for us to be close to God. As Pilgrims of Hope, we are journeying together to become more like Jesus.
Let’s make today a day filled with love because Christ saves us.
We are called to walk together in holiness, united in faith. Through kindness, prayer, and love, we are never alone on this journey.
May we help each other remember these three important Gospel messages:
“God loves you!”
“Christ saves you!”
“The Holy Spirit lives in you!”

During National Family & Life Week we reflect on the call of Jesus Christ to “Let the little children come to me.” We Pray: Lord, may we always recognize you in the vulnerable and in your precious "little ones" and may we always respond with compassion.

Confirmation marks a great joy for Bishops, Pope Leo told one thousand young people visiting the Vatican. Yet, he stressed it often brings sadness since many young people never set foot in church again, disappearing from their parishes.
Gospel of the Day (Matthew 28,16-20)
The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

On #GoodFriday, we meditate on the mystery of Christ's death and we venerate the cross: "Behold the wood of the cross, on which hung the salvation of the world. Come let us adore."
Pope Leo XIV carries the cross for all 14 stations to symbolize how he carries the world's suffering in his prayers & invites everyone to walk together with Christ "who suffered for us to give us salvation & life & to seek how we, too, can be bearers of peace & not of hatred."
Solemn Liturgy for Good Friday is celebrated at many parishes across the diocese today, including at the Cathedral of the Holy Family in Saskatoon at 3 p.m. with Bishop Mark Hagemoen presiding. It will be live-streamed to pray along live or later at: https://t.co/RzjeKeilPi
"... Our Lord Jesus Christ offers the unexpected, ultimate, and final confrontation between light and darkness, death and abundant life" - Bishop Hagemoen's 2026 Easter Message

At the Chrism Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica, Pope Leo invited priests, bishops, and all Christians to embrace their challenges with trust in God.
During this celebration, priests renewed the vows they made at the time of ordination and the Pope blessed the oil for the sick, the oil of catechumens and the chrism.
Our model of servant leadership.
May we be inspired to walk in that same spirit of love and self-giving in our schools, our communities, and our lives.
