Good morning. “Houston, we have a problem.”
Something is happening in Canada and it’s getting to the insane phase. Yesterday in Ontario some Canadians spotted an American bottle of wine on a liquor store shelf. Oh my God, the Canadian media went crazy.
Are we creating a COVID 2.0 bullshit, telling on the neighbours for going to work?
One day into Carney’s trade war and we are $7.2 billion further in debt.
One of my favourite USA programs, Squawk Box on CNBC, drilled the Liberal LeBlanc. These guys are smart, they challenged him and he looked totally out of his league. Canada ranks dead last out of 38 countries till 2060.
Why doesn’t Canadian media point that out or challenge these fools?
Or fat Doug Ford shut down oil going south. Maybe shut down oil going east. How about the East buy Canadian oil?
Eby buys Canadian but won’t let Alberta oil and gas get out of Canada.
We have entered the retard phase.
Carney wants us to join the EU and then he will get a very big job leading it all as we are slaves to them.
I didn’t sign up for this bullshit. COVID proved retards will follow anything.
Elbows up.
Good morning.
What each side claims
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer: Canada walked away from terms agreed earlier in the week. The U.S. offered Canada the best treatment of any major exporter (tariff cuts on steel, aluminum, autos, and lumber). Canada then made new demands and walked back other commitments, upending the balance. No new talks are scheduled.
Prime Minister Mark Carney: Last-minute U.S. changes were “unfair, uneconomic, and called into question the reliability of any deal.” The U.S. “asked too much and offered too little.” Canada suspended talks and recalled its team because it would not accept those terms. He described it as a “power play” that raised sovereignty questions.
Someone is lying?
Canada is fucked without a proper trade deal. Maybe your holiday last week shouldn’t have happened. A real leader would address the nation on what is going on and the plan.
I think we know who is the problem.
Have a great Sunday.
Canada’s Canola Industry: $43.7 Billion, 206 000 jobs.
Canada Steel Industry: $6.7 Billion, 123 000 jobs
Canadian EV Industry: No answer, but in 5+ years could be impactful.
Slaughtering an independent and thriving industry in the hopes to protect an unknown industry…..
At his request, I met with Prime Minister Mark Carney @MarkJCarney today. We had a very frank discussion in which I made it clear that Albertans will no longer tolerate the way we've been treated by the federal Liberals over the past 10 years.
I provided a specific list of demands the next Prime Minister, regardless of who that is, must address within the first six months of their term to avoid an unprecedented national unity crisis.
This includes:
• Guaranteeing Alberta full access to oil and gas corridors to the north, east, and west
• Repealing Bill C-69 (aka. “no new pipelines act”)
• Lifting the tanker ban off the BC coast
• Eliminating the oil and gas emissions cap, which is a production cap
• Scrapping the so-called Clean Electricity Regulations
• Ending the prohibition on single use plastics
• Abandoning the net-zero car mandate
• Returning oversight of the industrial carbon tax to the provinces
• Halting the federal censorship of energy companies
I also made it clear that Alberta, as owner of the resource, will not accept an export tax or restriction of Alberta’s oil and gas to the United States, and that our province is no longer agreeable to subsidizing other large provinces who are fully capable of funding themselves. Lastly, I made it clear that federal mismanagement of Jasper and Banff national parks resulted in last year’s tragic wildfire in Jasper and is endangering Banff, and the situation must be rectified immediately.
With the federal election about to be called, I encourage all Albertans to get involved in what is likely one of the most pivotal and important elections in our nation’s history, and to support the party and candidates that have consistently advocated for freeing Alberta from federal overreach and the repeated economic attacks our province has faced from Ottawa over the past 10 years.
How did the Liberal party stumble into destroying a $44 billion Saskatchewan global canola industry in one week?
Well, the climate fantastist Liberal party geniuses burned $50 billion debt-spending taxpayer money on bankrupt EV projects that real investors wouldn’t touch. Now, they’ve decided to “protect” that fake climate grift “industry” by joining nations with real EV production in tariffing China’s low cost EVs.
Makes sense?
The Liberal party is tariffing low-cost EVs from China to help Tesla and our fake EV non-industry they debt-spent to try to create.
So instead of letting Canadians decide if they want a Chinese EV, they’ve directly provoked a trade war with China that in a single week has destroyed billions in Canadian canola production value, and is on a fast path to permanently wreck a $44 billion industry built with private capital and investment employing 200,000 Canadians.
Again - to protect American EVs - and a fake climate grift EV industry where we have zero national competitive advantage or economies of scale.
This is just another example of economically illiterate politicians desperate to appear tough accidentally but permanently destroying Canadian jobs and industries with no understanding of how self-defeating tariffs - and the casualties they create - really are.
Team Ottawa has suspended Parliament, coronated a climate anxious leader and is now presiding over the destruction of a leading pillar of Canada’s global agricultural leadership.
When you sell out Saskatchewan for an Ottawa-based Liberal party climate grift, please don’t call it Team Canada and try to sell it as economic nationalism.
This situation is getting insane. The Chinese are locking this in, in one week.
Mark Carney better get to Saskatchewan fast.
FBI nabs former Saskatchewan man and World Bank employee on child porn charge.
I think there is much more to this story than we are getting.
