I get the intentionality behind wanting to build and maintain certain standards, but this is a genuinely shitty take, especially when you’re looking down on someone who is out here working with their hands and earning an honest living.
The fact that you have Esquire attached to your name doesn’t make someone else’s hustle beneath you. And some of you wouldn’t tolerate half the nonsense you spew on this app if the same energy were directed at you.
You’re entitled to choose your friends based on compatibility, shared interests, values, and even professional alignment. Nobody is obligated to be friends with anybody. But reducing someone’s worth as a potential friend to their profession, where they live, and how much financial value they can bring to your life is not having standards. It’s elitism dressed up as intentionality.
What exactly makes you think a woman who does nails, lashes, or makeup has nothing meaningful to contribute to a conversation? Is her life experience automatically less interesting because she doesn’t practise law or medicine? Does working from her parents’ house mean she has nothing going for her?
And the irony of calling someone a potential liability simply because of her occupation, before even getting to know her, is quite something. You’ve already decided she’s a financial burden based on absolutely nothing she has done to you.
You say friendship should be symbiotic, and I agree. But reciprocity is not the same as professional usefulness. Some friends will refer clients to you, some will exchange services with you, and some will simply be there to listen, laugh with you, challenge your thinking, or make life a little less lonely. Their value as human beings and friends is not determined by how conveniently they fit into your professional network.
Also, the assumption that a woman who does nails or lashes has nothing to gist about beyond difficult customers is honestly embarrassing. You can have a law degree and still be the most intellectually shallow person in the room. Education, profession, and income do not automatically translate to depth, character, or good company.
And let’s be honest: if your friendships are primarily about what people can do for you professionally, then what you’re describing sounds less like friendship and more like networking with the emotional benefits stripped away.
By all means, choose your circle intentionally. But please stop confusing having preferences with having superior human worth. You can decide someone isn’t your kind of person without turning their honest livelihood into a punchline.
There’s a difference between knowing your worth and believing other people are beneath you because they don’t have what you have. This take misses that difference entirely.
It’s either some Arewa men are being ignorant, or they simply don’t understand what the word “feminist” means. A woman can be a feminist and still love her husband and the other men in her family. Feminism doesn’t mean hating men, disrespecting your husband, or rejecting marriage. It means believing that women deserve equal rights, respect, and opportunities. A woman can be a feminist, a loving wife, and a feminine woman all at the same time. These things are not mutually exclusive.
the world is quick to talk about women's rights until a muslim woman exercises her right to wear the hijab. suddenly, her choices become a problem that everyone wants to regulate. you cannot claim to stand for women's freedom while refusing to respect the choices of muslim women.
You can call it whatever you want; secularism or national identity, but to
deny someone the right to education, and treat them almost like a criminal because of a headscarf, in 2026, is the dumbest policy of all in the Muslim world. Azerbaijan should be ashamed of itself.
They said Muslim girls are forced to wear hijab and they called that oppression. For someone who is forced to wear the hijab, this is an opportunity to take it off, right? So tell me, why are these students crying?
From this scene alone, it's so easy for a sane person to deduced that muslim girls are not only hated, they are also being oppressed by non-Muslims for practicing a religion that preaches basic human decency.
If you think covering the head will interfere in their study, then you're a big retard. I graduated from a primary school strictly governed by Christians and a secondary school strictly governed by Muslims. I left these schools as one of the best graduating students.
With these few points of mine, allow me to lecture you that without or with hijab, nothing can stop a student from soaring higher.
The fact that you think sleeping with a woman makes you a man, but that same woman sleeping with you makes her a hoe, is a level of intellectual dishonesty that needs to be studied. You participated in the same act, but somehow you came out a king and she came out damaged goods? Mathematics of misogyny 2026 👏🏽😂
This is the original video and has nothing to do with converting to Christianity.
Any person that speaks Hausa will understand this is an exorcism session and the cleric here is alleged to be talking to her jinns. Nothing will happen to her.
But again it is Nigerian Christians, they are very prone to being fooled and will take any rubbish as long as that will go with their agenda.
Her sons will tomorrow be looking for wives like their mother while her daughters will dislike men. She most likely will share her pains with her daughters warning them of men like their father while forgetting to share her pains with her sons and they will grow up romanticizing the abusive relationship their mother was in.
All in all society will be dumped with broken children who become broken adults and unless they are deliberate in breaking the chains will continue the brokenness!
If someone actively defends a government while hundreds are killed, kidnapped and subjected to horrific violence, shouldn’t that also inform our judgment of their character?
Or does being nice to friends cancel out everything else?
Hausa guys will naturally do this, not because they don’t see you as one of them, but back home you southerners treat northerners differently and like aliens, you talk about them condescendingly and derogatory…
that they will first bond with someone from Senegal that speaks different language before they bond with a Southerner.
There is nothing Zionists can do to northern Nigeria that northern leaders haven’t done. Your people are being killed by bandits and the government while fellow Muslims in power enjoy all the luxuries life can offer at the expense of the innocent Muslim population.
Islam has been under attack. Northern Muslim states are the poorest in the country, and it is your fellow Muslims who are in power.
This has destroyed many marriages in Arewa and continues to do so—as young men and women refuse to acknowledge that their partners are unique individuals to be loved for their uniqueness as they seek common ground where understanding, kindness, compassion and companionship flourish.
Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a self-acclaimed prophet and overseer of Divine Grace Church, Nicholas Nusa, 50, over the alleged abduction of five female children in the state.
Why do you label this a "Christian" village? I have lived in many parts of Northern Nigeria, including Jos, and not once have I encountered a purely "Christian" or "Muslim" village.
There are areas with high Christian or Muslim populations, but that is as far as it goes. Christians and Muslims live side by side. In many parts of Taraba State, for instance, it is not uncommon to see a mosque operating right beside a church.
This "Christian genocide" narrative you are pushing on behalf of foreign powers, who are actively destabilizing the country to extract solid minerals, is truly terrible. There are indeed massacres and the destruction of communities happening across Nigeria, but this is not an exclusive attack on Christians. Muslims suffer equal destruction and displacement as well.
By framing this violence as a targeted agenda against Christians, you are not helping the situation. Instead, you are taking a severe national security and resource crisis and reducing it to cheap political propaganda. This does nothing but further polarize the victims, keeping them divided rather than uniting them against their true oppressors.
"The most senseless talk from some Mallams is saying even if this Government didn't do anything, we should vote them because of DG campaign.
That he shares rice. If the Government is working, why will you need rice from them.
We must fight and ensure this Government is gone"
Terrorists killed 30 innocent people out of the 600 worshippers they kidnapped in Niger state, now another 37 Niger people have been killed to cover up the mining & terrorism business. That is about seventy human beings murdered with no accountability, no outrage, no consequences. SEVENTY NIGERIANS NOT TERRORISTS!!!!
This is how I feel everyday when I keep telling people that the people destroying this nation are bigger than Muslims
Muslims are just tools.
Christians are silent tools
The people in charge make us fight each other because if we ever behave like human beings and stop fighting ourselves and dig out the evil.
It will not end well for them.
1/4 The fact that I didn't even bring religion into this, yet so many of you are in my comments lecturing me about it, says everything. When it comes to basic morality, you immediately hide behind religion to justify a man's lust to marry multiple women.
