@energysmartwv Yeah interesting paradigm shift to go from thinking of the user need being "keep me warm" to doing all six functions of HVAC, when people either don't have anything to do some of those functions or have separate systems (stand alone dehumidifier, open windows, etc)
Tulsa is returning for her 5th season with NYGL this year! When she's not winning gold medals and championships with St. Olaf College, Boston Brute Squad, and the U24 USA Women's National Team, Tulsa is gaining momentum in other sports, like competitive pickleball and podcasting.
@energysmartwv That does help with the definitions a lot, but still missing the relational explanation. For instance, if I have forced baseboard hot water and feel that it is meeting my needs, how does the load matching compare to a heat pump system?
We see a lot of concern today that renewables and other clean electricity will require too much materials, and producing those will break our remaining carbon budget.
We have a new paper out today we find that these concerns are overblown. https://t.co/Jadwit6Hav

@drummond_dk It's not about the firmness of the grip, it's about locking your arm against your side so when they try to "shake" your hand is an immovable object.
With global heating as bad as it is and rapidly worsening, we need policies to reduce and then eliminate the fossil-fueled aviation industry. This would have a co-benefit of motivating aviation creativity (e.g., airships). Today's aviation industry contributes to climate death.
Question for #amtraktwitter :
Why does lake shore ltd westbound miss the connection with Vermonter in Springfield by 11 minutes each day?? Seems like a great opportunity to get Boston people to the slopes!
@TomKacandes @HMcJeon3y4 @JesseJenkins@gradientcomfort Yeah, I was just assuming that once you use a refrigerant that isn't toxic if it leaks, someone will design a connection that doesn't need special skills, even at the much higher pressure. That Sanden CO2 unit looks perfect for a lot of New England homes!
@HMcJeon3y4 @JesseJenkins@gradientcomfort We are already starting to see CO2 as a refrigerant in large heat pumps, which should reduce the installation cert requirements!
@wombat_ee Problem is that the Nimitz (and Ford) aren't diesel electric. "As a 2005 Rand report said, "The biggest problems facing the Nimitz class are the limited electrical power generation capability"". They run the propulsion loads off steam turbines.
Good morning from Downtown Springfield. It’s windy, pouring, but unseasonably warm (53° F). My journey to NYC begins on PVTA’s G5 to Enfield, which happens to be an electric bus!
@alexdw5 Yes. For me it's really about the potential for community. I see community as the solution to a lot of US cultural problems, but our current urban planning and car infrastructure prevents that community from forming. Hence the need to build from the ground up!
