This is a post to separate the posts before from the ones after this. I don't believe in the same things as before.
I've changed, and with that so have my beliefs. So whatever I write after this should hopefully sound different from what I wrote before.
Techno-optimism is denying responsibility in disguise.
Because the pattern is to keep saying 'oh but this problem created by our current technology will be solved by future tech.' But never by you, no?
So you keep shifting the burden to the next thing.
I hate the fucking audacity of companies to sell us solutions to problems that they create.
One example: think of electrolytes. We used to drink water from mountain streams (or other healthy water bodies) that was never "just water".
Now, we add the electrolytes in back in.
"Don't judge by appearance"
No, judge by appearance, but learn to judge well. Learn constantly.
After a certain point you'll know, you'll come to trust your judgment.
Work towards that :)
There are certain environments that enable people to feel good, think well, and generally thrive. And there are environments that don't.
Live in a place that allows you to do more of the former. There's research that shows your pincode can predict your life expectancy. 😶
When you're sick tiny things make a massive impact on how you're feeling, especially something negative.
It's a great way to identify the small things that affect you negatively (ecause everything adds up) and then remove them.
@DanielBMate at this point in my life I see what you meant during our walk - what would I do when the alternative to inaction is unbearable? That all fears fly out the window.
Writing this as a path marker for myself, tagging you to show gratitude.
We're not meant to be a cog in a machine, we're possibly each meant to be the machine in itself.
The job of each machine is possibly to make every cog grow to be a machine.
I'm gradually peeling away the layer of superiority complex, contending with the underlying feelings of inferiority that gave birth to it in the first place.
Underneath that is reality - I'm neither more nor less. I just am who I am.
Recognise where the mandate to "perform" or comply comes from.
Recognise that you don't need to, right now.
Your life is different from before.
If you do still need to pretend, make it a conscious decision.
Make it a way of being that you can reverse at will.
I cannot pretend to be emotionally regulated when I'm not.
I cannot pretend to be at a level of healing or personal development that I'm not at.
It backfires and results in alienation with the self. And with others.
So what do you do when you feel like you HAVE to pretend?
@Ayotheauthor Btw, I learn and benefit from your writing advice. Just want to say thank you.
I'm trying to have the intention of a genuine conversation, although Twitter doesn't easily lend itself to that idea.
Anything meaningful in my life, my work, just ME, it will all come from being who I am.
Can sound like bullshit, but just be yourself.
Love @vy0mbhatia's reel related to this -

@ephraimchampion@Ayotheauthor Hundred percent agree with your idea of self-care. 🙌 The question is whether things serve as motivation or as fuel for self-flagellation.
Sure, it does. It's how I feel about what you said, so of course.
It's been my realisation that when I'm doing well, I'm okay hearing "real shit".
But when one isn't doing well, it's less than useless.
I guess it depends on your target audience. I'm here to care about all.
@Ayotheauthor This way of thinking, similar to The Courage to Disliked, might help some take action. But I don't feel this.
Too much negative motivation in it for me. Are you trying to help people or tear them down?
We live in a world of pradoxes and contradictions, but that's not a bad thing.
You are unique, and at the same time there are many many others who have been through similar experiences.
But I guess no one has been through the exact combination of experiences that you have huh.
